Szoboslai seemed quieter than usual - is that because he actually did work defensively on the right hand side??
I have been hoping to see more of a 442 formation with Wirtz and Szoboslai left and right respectively with the width coming from the full back positions. I think we saw a bit of that today. I wouldn't have minded seeing Ekitike and Isak up front together for 10 or 15 mins at some point today.
I think Salah can still be very effective as a forward in that formation. With a lot less defensive duties. If we were 2 up earlier then I think he would have got some game time today. Also, if it stayed at nil all until say, 75th minute, then surely he'd have come on as well??

I think you need to be careful about crowding that central area that Wirtz plays in. He had no one getting in his way today and was always the link between midfield and attack. That’s why he was signed to create and help the team keep the ball and move it at pace which he did today.
I’ve been wanting to see Dom play in one of the wide roles which he’s played for in other teams. He can cross and create and get up and down the wing. He can still drift a bit and get involved from there. Right now I don’t think he has a best position and will help the team in several roles between midfield, 10 or wide.

We weren't mercilessly being attacked down our right hand side as well, behind Salah's non-track backs. Or getting countered off him cutting in on his left and smashing the ball against the defenders shins, they regain possession and off they go.....Originally posted by peterbread View PostI think you need to be careful about crowding that central area that Wirtz plays in. Yep best way to deal with it was leave him on the bench. So now that Slot has shown he’s got balls & we got the win does he do the same next match ?Originally posted by Norbs View PostNo way Salah got brought on towards the end, he'd have unleashed hell on Slot
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Time for him to play a different role and be an experienced squad option. Plenty of big names have done it at the end of their time with the club. If he’s not willing to do that then he can move on in January. If he’s happy to stay then have your final season with the club and then it’s time for a change.
I’m hoping Slot is ready to stick with his call and it’s not a case of 3 games in the week so he’s rested him and he’s back on Wednesday.Last edited by peterbread; 30-11-25, 09:57 PM.

If he brings salah back in then I hope he is only playing more centrally, or possibly on the left. His performances on the right are too predictable and doesn't bring any team mates into play.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
