So are you moving on from the Slot dressing room dysfunction angle? Your theory suggests a plan hatched by Edwards prior to the start of the season. Or can you still work Slot into it, as a willing accomplice, maybe?Originally posted by Irishnev View PostI think this is Edwards and Hughes, sign thd contract, force him out and get paid.

I'm confused, it's 90% quotes from Salah. Hoist by his own petard?

There's a lot of snugness about Salah singing a contract. Surely from the clubs side it was pure economics. £20m a season on wages versus signing a replacement and paying wages?
We were absolutely sure to sell him midway through his contract which is why we asked for 3 years. The fall off has been clear and stark which has caught everyone by surprise but make no mistake this won't cost us (unless we don't make the top 4, but that's not all on Salah, for sure).

Hes obviously a legend of the club but it’s also really sad and pathetic that he can’t handle being on the bench for even a couple of games before he gives such an interview.
He says he doesn’t think he’s better than anyone but this behaviour contradicts this because there have been lots of players over the years that have had to be squad players at times and get on with it.
There’s also no such thing as earning your place so much you don’t have to fight for it. Eventually if you don’t play well, you can lose your spot and that’s just life.
I think he’s being left out not because he’s being scape goated but because we signed Wirtz and Isak for big money and they need space to become the focal point of the team (particularly Wirtz).
It’s possible he’s also been told they are considering a sale and he doesn’t want to leave. That’s not nice for him but his response will only make it worseY.N.W.A!!!!!!

Yeah he wants his family to be there for his last ever Liverpool match. He’s out the door, I’m certain of it now.Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostHe addressed that in his interview.
Said he has family coming over from Eygpt for that game so that whether he plays or not he can say his goodbyes to the fans before he goes to the AFCON. Think he might have said something about wanting his family to hear his name being sung too.
It was yet another part of his interview that I thought was very staged and deliberate in what was being said.
Only part of the interview I liked was his little pop at Carragher.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Agree with that . The bit about him earning his spot in the team each week only lasts so long, any level headed person would accept that.Originally posted by Norbs View PostYou'd think his car was crushed, locker emptied and contract reduced to minimum wage the way he talksMe, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

“Consider that in light of Salah’s latest brattish behaviour and, really, who is the problem here?”
“He wanted to stay all along and was prepared to indulge in some emotional blackmail along the way.”
“Towards the end of last season, Salah claimed to have an agreement with Slot that he did not need to defend as long as he scored or created goals. That is not how the Dutchman viewed it when asked recently but, in any case, Salah has stopped scoring. So just who has broken promises?”
What Joyce is saying is probably true but the tone is derogatory and it seems like there is an agenda at play here.

In my opinion the bumper contract was a no-brainier. If it worked out, we'd get a superstar for another season. If it doesn't work, I think we'll be looking at £60m plus for him from Saudi. That contract was given to safeguard our investment.Originally posted by danperkins View PostI would imagine wanting an under performing, aging player on 400k pw gone is pretty likely. If they are the same person that gave him that ridiculous contract in the first place, then they probably should leave too.

No decisions made yet on whether Mo Salah will travel to Milan but #LFC facing big dilemma on whether to or not in the morning. Salah was at the AXA today. Busy day ahead tomorrow: training 11.45am, flight mid-afternoon, presser at San Siro 6.30pm.
LFC board continue to back Arne Slot in the wake of Mo Salah's incredible outburst. Rightly IMO. No man bigger than the club etc. Would certainly not be a shock if he doesn't travel to Milan for Tuesday's Champions League game.
