Yeah watched that - always good content from Clery.Originally posted by rudedog View Post
Amazing to focus on what’s actually been happening on the field dispassionately. The amount of noise this story continues to generate is absolutely staggering.Modifying post.

Yeah easy to guess who it is.
Pretty sure Salah has been seen with Henderson a number of times in London since the latter moved to Brentford. Salah has been seen with a number of other players in London during his time with us. So nothing new or unusual for him to be down there.

Could be anyone. Someone that works in the restaurant, some freak that follows players around for rag papers, the list goes on and on.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

With the press conference today Slot said he would talk to Salah...I wonder, does that mean that Salah made first contact to apologise for his outburst, as Slot implied that first move would have to be Mo's. If so, I wonder if that was some of the advice dished out by Hendo?

I think under Klopp he did more defensive work, he was still a forward so did less defensive work than the midfielders and defenders naturally but you would see him tracking runners and helping out his fullback more than we have seen in the last 18 months. As you say I think the cover was more needed for TAA vacating his position than Salah, perhaps Salah got away with a bit because defensively all eyes were on TAA.Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostI agree with most of the post save for the highlighted bit.
It did happen under Klopp, both for Salah and TAA. Depending on the game and who was available, Klopp had one from Henderson, Wijnaldum and Fabinho covering/supplementing the defensive duties for the right flank. Then it moved to Konate having to cover the right flank up to the half way line to facilitate TAA and to a lesser degree Salah.
And do think if Klopp was manager last season and Salah was racking up goals and assist as he was, then the same would have happened in terms of others taking up more defensive duties so that the goals/assists could continue.
Obviously his numbers of G/A increased last years with his reduced defensive responsibility, whether Klopp would have done the same who knows, I think Salah was just opportunistic in making his pitch as the star man to the new manager, that's just my opinion though would it have worked with Klopp I'm not so sure...The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
