Some of you really don't understand the meaning of 'papering over the cracks' do you. LOL

Some pretty selective stats there btw

Why no "most goals by someone with a beard" or "Most goals by someone shorter than 5'10" "Most goals in a season after getting a hair transplant" ?

His tracking back consisted of jogging into the middle of our half and waiting for a breakout pass.
At no time did he pick up or shadow one of their attackers to mark them out of a passing option.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

No we do, which is why we recognise when it's being misplaced.

But yeah, 2 more stats for the list there. Well spotted.

          alright, last year. Point remains.
          Really?

Well for starters you're using his entire career as a reasoning, so i don't think you do.

Also there's 3 extra stats there...

He's delivered elite attacking numbers for 8 seasons running. Pick whichever season you want.

Yeah I thought 1 of them was a bit frivolous, so I only counted the serious ones...

He was better than he has been for ages, but still not good enough. He really does look like age has caught up with him and he's managing the amount of energy he uses

Real shame it's gonna end this way given how epic he's been for us, and I wouldn't be averse to keeping him if he can accept a role as a substitute; but at 400k per week he needs to be the best player on the pitch, and it doesn't seem like that's going to change any time soon
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

He did very little defending. There were many moments he lost the ball and walked after it.

He wasn't crap, far from it, but his fanboys online are making out like he was amazing and completely dominated for us when he came on.

He did the bare minimum you'd expect someone earning 400k a week to do every game. Pass to teammates, run to space, link up play, not be greedy (although he did take that chance off Macca's toes) etc. He also missed a chance Darwin would've had people frothing at the mouth about and managed to **** up one of the easiest through balls you get in a game. You know, the stuff he's supposed to still be good at...

Ideally, he's a late game impact sub. When he's fresh he's dangerous. Like when he came on, there was a clear 20minutes of real energy there. Then it dropped away rapidly. But his ego and brainwashed fanboys cant handle that idea.

I think your bias to hating everything about him because of an interview is starting to show. I'm far from a fanboy since I wanted him sold last season. But I'm not completely biased.

First one is from the previous game. Next one is the current game. He did far more this time and was in plenty of areas compared to before. You claim he did very little defending and just tracked about. Meanwhile the heat map shows he was in our half quite a bit, and I saw him chasing defenders, a couple times right to our penalty box. I know nothing about football? Stop being so one sided. Its a clear improvement.

Hence why he's the perfect impact sub. Saves his legs and keeps him fresh so he can remain dangerous. The last thing teams want when they're holding a lead or trying to keep us out is a fresh Salah coming off the bench.

The only thing that makes it unfeasible is his contract and ego not allowing him to do it

Hate is a strong word. I don't hate him at all. I do dislike his me-first attitude and ego, and have done for a couple of years now - not since that interview. The interview just opened more peoples eyes to the side of him i don't like.

We can bundle all these nice stats into a shiny brochure to help convince some other team to hand over a substantial wad of cash for the Egyptian Statto King.

Not quite clear what the images show but looks like approx 34% in own half vs 23%. 10% more.

The images just show where he was running, his movement during the game.

But not necessarily effective movement, man marking, chasing, closing down...
Some of is "backtracking" was not much more than a fast walk.
