That was what I didn't understand about the line up, why is it that when one player is out managers seem to shift half the side around to accomodate the change. For me with Mane out we should have put Oxlade-Chamberlain in for him like for like and keep the same system up front. Sturridge is a mile away from the player he was and if he is our 2nd choice main striker he should only be coming in when Firmino needs a rest or if we are playing a different system (such as 2 up front). The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Good post mate and fair comment. We are lacking an out and out striker which would of course change the shape of the team, but I think with someone clinical up top we'd definitely see an improvement. We can be scintillating going forward but we seem to piss about with the ball or be too clever rather just doing the basics. Just get the ****ing ball in the box and get on the end of it. TAA delivered a sumptuous ball in yesterday and no ****er was near it, frustrating.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostIf you don't have a dedicated flat track bully you will end up short more often than not. On our day we are unplayable. Yet it isn't our day often enough. It's OK sharing the goals about but an actual striker costs money because they score for a living. We don't have a Costa, Kane or Lukaku. So like arsenal, we struggle over and over. You can't drop Bobby but if he plays out wide he doesn't play.
Also something really ****ing irritating and daft is having half the team **** about over a free kick or have two people dick around taking corners, or taking out swinging corners when they should be in swingers. Totally bizarre and slows everything down. The list is endless I could go on all day.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

I know it's **** talking about the atmosphere from the comforts of my own home, but it was awful. The moans and groans are getting louder. Every misplaced pass, and it sounds like the ref has awarded the opposition a penalty. The sheer panic emanating from all sides when a set piece is being taken, or Mignolet is about to kick the ball. It's bat**** crazy.
I don't really understand the hero's welcome Coutinho has received either. He behaved like an absolute whopper, and he gets cheered like we've signed Messi. Fine, applaud him like every other player when he comes on/off, but to cheer him like a knight in shining armour is strange.

Back to the idea that we can tolerate a bad defence because we will score enough 0goals to win the game (something that people were saying previously), it's interesting to note that of the 6 games (in all competitions) that we have played this season the only ones that we have won have been the ones we kept a clean sheet in. All the games that we have conceded goals in we have failed to win. Obviously this is based off very few games, but interesting thing to note. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I didn't watch the match yesterday but did this morning. I don't understand the negativity at all. I thought we played very well and were very fluent and should have won the game easily. As long as we cut out the mistakes, we will be fine. It's still very early days.
On the game again, Coutinho played very well, as did Sturridge. It's very encouraging that we can rotate as much and still not lose the fluency and the verve going forward. Special mention also to Milner who acquitted himself well in the middle and Can, who is now a very important player for us. I'd like to see more of him in the controlling midfield role. Are we winning?

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

How long have we been saying this - mistakes are down to individuals so they need replacing with better defenders.Originally posted by Fredo View PostI didn't watch the match yesterday but did this morning.
