That feels very fast given he only had surgery a couple of weeks ago? Would have assumed his knee is still wrapped up

I think his acl might not have been as bad. He was walking straight after his knock. It’s still an acl though, not trying to underplay the seriousness of the injury.

Don't get too excited fellas. There's a minimum amount of time for the ACL graft to be strong enough. Minimum 6 months.

If we see VVD before the end of the season that'd be brilliant. I've accepted he's not playing for us again this season so anything before next season is a massive bonus.

If he's not back by March (which he won't be), I don't want to see him until July. That way he would miss the euros and start fresh for us.

No point rushing him. Expect to see him making an appearance on 29 May 2021.
                        Another MASSIVE game

He'll just be doing his rehab at the training centre, not "returning to light training".

For a footballer 6 months is the absolute minimum after an ACL replacement. Usually more like 7-8. Some sports have managed to get players back in 4-5 months where they're not twisting and turning so much, but even then it's considered rare to be anywhere near full strength before 6 months.

I'd imagine a symbolic 20 mins or so in a couple of games at the very end of the season is about the best we can hope for. I'd rather he focused on being ready for next year's pre-season though.

There's no point in rushing him back for the last few games of the season. Need to make sure he is properly recovered from injury when he plays.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

There's a decent chance he'll be in his 30s before he plays for us again.
