I never thought I'd rate a Liverpool CB from my era higher than Hyypia, who I absolutely loved, but VVD is just levels above him. He's ridiculous.
Aside from the defensive and organisational/leadership qualities he has, the passes he was spraying around yesterday are a huge weapon for us too. Incredible really.Comment

The only 'fault' is he could score more goals, but since that's not in his job description, and he's so ridiculously good at everything else, it shouldn't really be an issue. But he *could* chip in with more.
