I don't buy the idea that it was said before the push though, if someone had racially abused you fair enough push them away, but I doubt you would walk away and stand in the middle of the pitch, presumably you would either carry on expressing anger to the abuser or if you moved away presumably you would go directly to the official to complain.

Judging by Holgate's change in behaviour whatever is alleged to have happened must happen while Firmino is shouting at him with the ref between them. As unlikely as you think that is it seems it still seems the most likely time for it to take place.
What actually happened is unclear but as there are a lot of people around hopefully it is a misunderstanding and can be cleared up quickly.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I didn't disagree with your timing.

What I don't understand is hob h ref hasn't at least booked him for pushing him into the crowd?

            Fair enough, my mistake.

As I say there are enough people really close by that you imagine that someone else should have heard it, so it should hopefully be sorted out quickly.

The problem for Firmino is that it is difficult to prove that he didn't say anything racist, and that could still damage his reputation

The allegation had been made before he could punish him for the push. At that point I guess he bottled it because he thought it would look bad to book or send off a player making a claim of racial abuse.

FLMAO at Martin Tylers commentary of VVD's goal. As bitter as you get. Contrast it with the Siggurdson goal where you could almost hear him jizzing himself.

First i thought he didn't book him because he knew what Firmy had said, but of course i had to correct myself, because if the Ref heard/knew what had been said, Firmy would be off surely ?

I think we can assume the Ref either didn't hear or understand what was said.

He has form. In the game where he jizzed over Martial's debut goal, he sounded audibly gutted at Benteke's worldie.

Clive Tyldsley was similar on ITV when Agger scored against the Mancs in the FA Cup.

If Firmino had racially abused Holgate and the ref had heard it he would have to have sent Firmino off. So you have to assume that the referee didn't hear anything of that nature.

In fairness that one was probably shock

I think we can conclude from that that the Ref didn't hear or understand what if anything was said.

Fairly straight forward assessment of the incident from Soccer Saturday - Holgate lucky to not be sent off.

Overall thought we were poor last night, but still good enough to deserve the win. Everton were far better than when we played them in the league. We lost the midfield battle at times which is a worry, and Can has played quite often over Christmas which is hopefully why his levels dropped.

Robertson was brilliant rose to the challenge Bollasie brought and handled him pretty well.

Absolutely no question VVD will be captain before long.
