Aye, I think that Everton game I mentioned he played RWB.Originally posted by Patricks_Berger View PostDidn't Rogers have him playing wing-back...? Also the whole team was struggling at the time - difficult for young players to come through and settle in those circumstances. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Add in 6m for Brad SMith and we really did rip off BournemouthOriginally posted by RedReet View PostTBF, Ibe wasn't much older than Wilson when he was at Crewe and it didn't work out. A few more seasons in the Championship might have been a better path for Ibe too.
Either way, £15m was a crazy deal at the time.

I thought working under Eddy with a smaller side might of bought the best out in him, the powers that be must of too as I'm sure we put a buy back clause in with the deal.Originally posted by RedReet View PostTBF, Ibe wasn't much older than Wilson when he was at Crewe and it didn't work out. From the BBC:
Derby County's Harry Wilson has scored eight goals from outside the box in all competitions this season, at least twice as many as any other player in the top four tiers of English football in 2018-19. Five of those eight have been from direct free-kicks.
Harry Wilson has had a hand in 14 goals across all competitions for Derby this season (11 goals, three assists), more than any of his team-mates.Another MASSIVE game

I’d like.....Originally posted by Norbs View PostHim, Brewster and Jones added to the squad next season frees up money to be spent on a class centre back and perhaps cover for up front. Don't really need an awful lot more in the squad now
Out - Migs, Lovren, Moreno, Lallana, Studge, Origi
In - New back up Gk, LB/LCB, CAM, Versatile Forward
Promote - Brewster, Wilson

Whilst I wouldn't disagree with you, I think Lovren will stay, the rest should go, for their own sake, agree with everything else, we'll see Hoever soon enough as well.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostI’d like.....

Great, according to Derby fans.Originally posted by Pablo View PostAside from the screamers he's scoring, what's his overall game like? I watched some of the first half last night and he was pretty quiet. He had a few nice touches but that's all I noticed.
I really want him to succeed here but I'm not sure his overall game is up to it?
He's played in something like 5 different positions for them, including deeper in midfield, and supposedly been very good in all of them, doing defensive work, tracking back, build-up play, all that stuff.
He's now been continuously good for two seasons; Hull, pre-season with us and Derby, with a brilliant scoring record. No guarantees he'll succeed here, but he definitely deserves a chance.

that’s the most important thing because surely our loan system is to give players the chance to get experience and then come into the first team squad. I know they build up their reputation making them more saleable also but if Wilson doesn’t get a shot then others may think twice about joining us.
Gomez, Trent and hopefully Brewster are youngsters that have gone straight into the first team squad and bypassed the loan process. I am struggling to think of a player who went on loan, did well and came into the first team squad to get a decent amount of minutes.
