Moreno did two things wrong in 90 mins, netiher lead to a goal. The vitriol is weird.

There is no vitriol, and it not just the mistakes. His all round positioning, and lack of discipline causes issues throughout the team. He was giving Phillips way too much space. But then when he dives in he tends to create either a ricochet or a foul, he rarely makes a clean tackle. Defending is about more than just the, moments when you are involved with the ball, and we don’t seem a strong composed when he plays. I’ve been as big a supporter of his as anyone. But he has had enough chances now.

That's all fine apart from the first four words, which are clearly untrue. Except they actually created **** all on the ground/down our ledt and it was really only one lunge/foul and once when he committed himself and got turned in reality yesterday. They had far more success down the other side and failed to connect to crosses from there in a couple instances when they should have scored. But yeah, he's not good enough. But that's not really the point, getting called a cunt and singling out for 'he should never play again' as the main takeway from yesterday is weird.

You see it differently, fair enough. I don’t think think he played well in the first half, and I didnt see the second. Gomez wasn’t great either, but he seems to get more time because he is a converted CB. He also has a lot to do to convince.

I think it's more that Gomez is still young and learning his trade, he's still only 20. Moreno is 25 and still making the same mistakes that he was making 4 years ago when we signed him. Both still have a lot to learn, but experience suggests that Moreno isn't going to learn from them. If Gomez hasn't learned from his mistakes in a couple of years then I imagine that he will be getting similar grief.
