Farting over the line into top 4 is hardly the finish any of us wanted. Id rather this was all tied up and he could play the U23 squad in the remaining games to give the others a good rest.
I dont want us to settle.m, but we are where we are.

Even if don't beat or get a draw v Chelsea, we will beat Brighton on the last day of the season.

We would already be there if it wasn't for the injuries and some pretty suspect refereeing decisions. As Klopp says Spurs have had more penalties at Anfield this season.

i also dont think resting players is always the answer, a bit yes, but not completely. Sport is about rhythm and to rest players for weeks would not help us out in the long term. Our issues is squad depth and the fact that injuries for us will now be pretty catastrophic.
    Modifying post.

But to not appreciate the mitigating circumstances of the recent results coming in-between the biggest games (City and Roma) the club has faced in a decade, with a huge injury list is to ignore what is going on.

I suspect we are slightly ahead of schedule being on the cusp of the CL final this year. I fancy we are going to really bolster the squad to enable us to be able to compete on all fronts next season.
I get the circumstances and dodgy decisions costing us

I felt confident against City and Roma but not so watching us in these games, playing the old slow passing nowhere football ,

Hoping that was gone out of our games.

Yeah, but there was a bunch of over reactionary drivel in here on Saturday from the usual suspects.

Perspective just goes out of window with each dropped point.
        Oh I don't know.

It's squad depth that's the issue not injuries, we only have four injuries (Ox, Matip, Can and Lallana), that's almost a par for any stage of a season. If we **** up the CL/league it's the reluctance, money, holding out for player A that will come under scrutiny again.

Hopefully next year we can have a decent sized squad that can compete on most fronts.

The perspective people need to hold on to is we need to beat a dire Brighton at home to secure fourth - more nervy than it should have been but entirely predictable all the same. These teams were fighting for survival and historically those games are always difficult.

Depending on what happens this week we could still rest players (if needed against Chelsea).

I get the feeling watching the last two home games in the league that altho Klopp maybe wanted to keep full throttle games, the players themselves played within themselves to concentrate on being fit and healthy for the Roma games...the contrast between the midweek performance and the weekend is marked. So, hopefully back to it on Weds!
