Very talented guy just needs to move the ball quicker. Only a kid, has loads of time ahead of him and will only improve.

He’s so strong on the ball. It’s easy to forget this is his first season off getting lots of games. Really good game tonight. Really good last three games (I note we didn’t sub him off tonight).

Last few games the capitulation has coincided with him getting hooked.
      Modifying post.

Yeah he is really good with the ball in tight spaces, just need to learn to release it quicker and I think he could be a ready made replacement for Gini.

I think he will go on to be more a box to box type midfielder in the mould of Goretzka or maybe even similar to Schweinsteiger in style. There is just something very Germanic in how he plays and he reminds me a lot of Goretzka when Goretzka was getting loads of plaudits at only 18. Now he is not as far along yet as Goretzka was at 18, but Goretzka was a freak of a player when he was young.

Jones just looks so like that type of player to me though and the improvements to his play that will come with experience are going to make him a hell of a midfielder sooner rather than later.

Actually another player he reminds me a bit of a young version of is yet another German in Michael Ballack. Ballack was a couple years older than Jones is now when he started to make his mark so might be interesting to see where Jones is at 22 or so.

He looks exactly the sort of young midfielder that if he was playing in the Bundesliga now I would be expecting him to end up at Bayern Munich sooner or later and would be expecting him to be getting raved about all over Europe.

I have a feeling when Jones gets that little bit more mental speed to his play, for things like releasing a ball quicker, that we will see the offensive side to his game show in a much more quantifiable way through goals and assists.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Jones was absolute class tonight and is having a great season without getting the plaudits. We have a real star in the making here.

Klopp is rightly getting him to play more conservatively at the moment and his ball retention, positioning in and out of possession is top class already for someone so young. He's actually naturally a very attack minded midfielder and that's something we'll see in the coming years with many goals and assists to come with progression like Gerrard

Can he swap shirts with Thiago? I might believe all the hype about our new signing then.

Jones was outstanding and there times when he was surrounded by two or three Red Bull players and I couldn't understand how he'd come away with the ball. He passes into space really well and positions himself superbly.

With a bit more bulk and experience, we're going to have a superstar on our hands!

RBL are famed for their high intensity pressing game - some of his ball retention last night was superb

Thought Jones did a lot of the 'dirty' work in midfield with Gini really well last night, hadn't really seen that from him so much in other games, allied to his ball retention, long may it continue.

Jones is going to be difficult to leave out if he continues playing like this, decisions to be made as to what our best midfield is.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He probably is a bit of both Wijnaldum and Thiago in terms of style. Good at retaining the ball, but some of the little turns to beat the press were similar to Thiago.

Of course!...Something must be rubbing off him training with some of the best midfielders around him, be galling if he wasn't learning!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Continues to improve & we are nurturing him well.

Yep, on a good trajectory in terms of improvement so we are gonna have a beast of a player on our hands in the next few years

Jones is very talented and good at keeping possession but he does need to let the ball go that bit quicker which I'm sure he'll learn to do. He is ahead of Ox, Keita, Shaq in our midfield that's for sure.
