I do wonder if he could do with a loan? Getting a season with 30 plus games in? A season at Brighton or somewhere, much as Connor Gallagher has had. He has the raw potential to be an absolute superstar, he just needs to remove that 'sloppiness' from his game.
completely agree, he was so frustrating yesterday, a loan move to do wonders for him. As much as I criticise Jomes for slowing up play, which is a real weak point in his game, he is very talented and tidy we can all see that and it must he really hard to come in cold and expect to perform but that's what you have to do at this level unfortunately to stake a claim. Some players can do that and make the most of the opportunity they get to prove themselves, others not so much. With Jones it could just be a case of more game time and some coaching to tweak that, the ability is there and he's only a kid.

Minamino is one who seems to he able to do that and credit to him, high praise from Klopp about Taki too which was well deserved after a brilliant goal. Origi too another one that seems to seize his limited chances.

You can see the improvements in his game compared to earlier in the season and you can see little hints of the guys he is training with in some of what he attempts to do.

A lot of what we think he is doing wrong is stuff that can be coached and will be down to his level of experience and the fact he is simply now at the level of the guys he is standing in for, so by comparison he will look slower on the bal or that he swells too long at times.

There is a good player in him, though I do think he needs to start more often in competitive games to become that good player be it with us or out on loan with another progressive team.

If I thought he would get enough games I would love to see him out on loan playing under a manager like Potter, Frank, Silva or Marsch but not sure he would get enough starts in any of their teams.
i was actually thinking that he would do well at Southampton for a season watching him last night v Southampton. Or as someone above alluded to, a year at Palace if Gallagher goes back to Chelsea wouldn't be a bad shout either.

However, it will depend on what Jurgen does with the squad this summer. If we sign that Tchouamendi fella (or whatever the **** his name is) then will there be enough in midfield to leave Jones leave? I'm not so sure when you consider that Oxlade is likely to feck off in the summer too. I think it will depend on if the club want to give Elliot a lot more football in midfield next season (they probably will) and also I think it will depend on if they think some of the younger players can step up to play more Carabao cup etc - players like Morten.

I think he will end up staying at LFC to be honest but I think longer term a year of first team premier league football would be better for him.

Potter is a great shout, tactically sound and his team plays nice football. Jones could flourish with a loan move there. At some stage though other teams will come calling for Potter and we'll see can he cut it at a bigger club.

I can see incremental improvements. He is so solid on the ball and a good dribbler. I still find his shooting a little disappointing from what we could see in his early days and he does dally on the ball at times. I think he is best kept here and not on loan.

I don't see that happening, he's been involved in about half of all our games this season and started about a third of them despite being out injured for a couple of months, including 10 PL starts.

If he leaves even temporarily we need someone to cover those minutes. This season we have played every cup game possible the chances of that happening again are unlikely (but if we win the CL there will be the Super Cup and World Club Cup which could add to the load). The likelihood is that Ox will leave and Milner will play fewer minutes as he gets older, yes we will probably be looking to bring someone in (Tchouameni??) and Elliott will be more competition, but we haven't been too troubled by injuries to key players this year. I think letting him go would be risky. Also he is a player who won't be going away to the WC mid season so could be a good fresh option to have.

I suppose it will be dependant on what we do in the market.

He needs a loan and regular games.
Not just looking at last night's game but I have always said he runs with the ball, then stops, it kills our speed and ability for a fast break. It's almost as if he is realishing being on the ball and on camera!
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

so many attacks and momentum breaks down because of how much he slows up the play so much. It's something that can and needs to be worked out of his game. He should be looking to get a few more goals and assists too. Still very young though

Jones is providing you with vibrators that were previously owned by Shelvey?

                        Are they autographed?

Curtis is a scouser and will be absolutely desperate to stay and improve. I think he will. Unlike Jonjo.

He doesn't need to move at all, he's turning into a good player and he's only 21. Plus he gets to train with Thiago, Henderson, Keita and Milner. He has the best coaches and players to learn from.

Not all players can mature as quickly as TAA, who is a generational talent. Plus his pathway to RB wasn't that conjested was it?

                              He's only 21!!

Think the time to start thinking Jones is not going to become the player we hope is if he hits 23 or 24 and is still looking at the level he is now.

He is already a good squad player ( by the standards set by our midfeld options) who would be good enough to be a starter in teams further down the league.

I do think game time is something he needs badly though and to be playing in two out of every three games at least in order to develop quicker. That's why I think a loan to a decent club with a progressive manager might suit him if we are not thinking of using him more in the first team next season.
