Yep I’d agree with that too.Originally posted by Paul12 View PostI think he is better than that. I'd argue that he has lost momentum and confidence because he has been in effect out for two years. Yes he sometimes needs to release the ball quicker, and I thought his approaches to some challenges were poor, but I also think he has something.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

he def list his way and we just need him to develop with games. People sneer at Europa football but Curtis can play every game in that competition

More fool them.
Is a competion that gave us some great moments in the past, and if we cannot get CL I want us going all out to get into the EL.
Great comp and winning it gets us into the CL.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

fair enough i'm still not over that transfer! I can see him being loaned out in about a year to be honest. Next season we will sign more midfielders & are stacked out left. I just see him falling down the pecking order & him wanting regular football. Had a decent game, got some mins into him & we won so all good

Think Jones's performances have been going under the radar recently - he seems to be doing what Klopp wants in this current line up and is being favoured over Thiago.
I still think he hangs on to the ball too long at times and misses opportunities for key passes/assists. He's not long turned 22 so plenty of time to improve still.

Definitely under the radar.

A year ago (or so) there was an analysis on our midfielders on Tomkins Times website, and it showed the closest player in terms of profile to Naby was Jones (across the top leagues) so he may turn into the player Keita should have been.
I agree he does not look like a Klopp player ar times, but he is technically proficient, and can grow into the role. Definitely feel he is worth developing. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

If he is surrounded with guys who are at their top level then they can take some of the heat off Jones. As a squaddie he as decent enough when he isn't trying to hog the ball.Originally posted by Charly View PostWe dont need a squad of twenty stars.
I think he is fine as a squaddie for now.
I can't help thinking that he has too high an opinion of himself and so will hang on to the ball for too long rather than doing the right thing and look for a quicker pass.
This could be trained out of him, but just keep hugging him to death
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I don't know if it is just me, but he doesn't seem to be as direct in his play as he used to be. We don't see him getting around the edge of the box cutting inside and looking to.push through the defense. When he broke through I also thought we had someone who would weigh in with goals from outside the box. I am guessing that the club have focused on the positional discipline, but I don't know where that leaves his development. Solid squaddie at the moment.Like others have said, in a more settled and better midfield we might see the more exciting side of his game again.Akloppalypse Now !
