He has, but he has been **** recently, the problem is we can't sub him off.

Jones was good, but should not be viewed as a right back, he's an emergency option, showed great attitude, but he's a midfielder.

I would start jones in centre mid for the remaining games. He has more nous and touch than any of the other 3. Give mcallister a rest.

I agree he is at his best in midfield, but the fact we can rely on him at RB too is a bonus with Trent's impending departure.

It provides in-game flexibility for tactical changes and to accommodate any injuries.

Bradley should be the first-choice RB next season, particularly against teams that will attack down the flanks. For teams parking the bus, we could use Jones in a hybrid RB role.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

I agree Mac needs a rest, particularly after the Tarkowski assault.

Who are you dropping to fit Jones in?

That's the problem unfortunately and exactly why we'll hopefully fix that when Trent leaves.

Under Slot, he can come on in leaps and bounds while freeing up space in the midfield for someone decent to come in as not comfortable having to rely on Grav, Macca & Szobo to be available all the time, they will need rest & help.
Jones can become our utility man when Endo leaves.
I would argue that the modern fullback is one of, if not the toughest position physically to play in football. You are expected to be up and down constantly like a greyhound, beat players, pick passes, get balls into the box and yet still keep focus on defending and not being caught out of position. It's an absolutely brutal position to play in the modern game imo.

Jones is a nice baller but I'm not sure he's cut out physically for that position, I'm sure he can do a job but we need better than that. Trent didn't have pace to lose buy he did, the difference between him and most other fullbacks is that he has a magic wand of a foot and we forgave the defensive stuff because of the insane production he was shelling out when he was in his pomp for us.

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

                    That wham being chatted, fella.

Was TAA a beartrap of a full back? No, but in his pomp, as you called it, he was still an above average RB in terms of defending and world class on the playmaking/attacking side of things.

A team does not have the sort of defensive record our team had duing the peak Klopp years if they are carrying a passenger, in defensive terms, at full back.

He has fallen off a lot the past two seasons, but let's not pretend he was not really good at RB (good at defending, brilliant at attacking) for a chunk of his time in the team.

Not pretending anything fella, so not really sure what you're on about, both things can be true. He was an average defender (you said it) that was the cause of so many goals against us and that's with CBS breaking their bollox to cover for him but yes he was probably one of the best attacking fullbacks in football in his pomp. 2 years is a long time in football.

I didn't. I said he was an above average RB in terms of defending.

Nothing at all average about his defending when he was at his peak for us.

That's your opinion, I'm going with average defender but fabulous attacking fullback. Modern fullbacks can be forgiven if they are producing up the pitch, if they are not then the focus quickly shifts.
