Realistically I think we'll come 2nd - we finished 25 points behind City (!) and is it really possible to overturn that in one go? They won't get 100 points again but still. If we sustain a challenge til near the end and finish pretty close to them, then that's fine by me.

I do think we can more or less match them player for player now, but the big worry is the lack of quality cover for Firmino and a possible lack of guile in CM still, with us not having brought in a creative 10.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The thing is, if we are in the run in and in contention, then whats to stop us?

City will definitely not have a season like last, and we fixed a lot of issues as we went last year (left back, CB) so should be stronger from the off with a full pre season with VVD, Robbo and TAA as a first choice defence where as last year we went in with what, Mignolet, no real RB (Clyne injured), Lovren, Matip and Moreno. A genuine world class keeper, who we need to settle straight away much as Ederson did for City. Salah has got his 'tricky first season' out of the way will be even better .

This is the strongest squad we've ever had arguably.

We do need to get off to a very strong start.

                  I'm very optimistic.

I think we will come second, but there is no 25 points to overturn, both on zero, **** last season, no back to back champions for 10 years

The bad start and the Coutinho **** cost us points, loads of mad draws, tailing off with the CL run. If we had got another 10-12 points last season it wouldn't have been unjust.

Full season with VVD, rejuvenated Lovren, new GK, blossoming FB's Keita and Fabinho. I think a 85-90 point season is easily possible. No proper cover for the front 3 is a joke, completely off a cliff. I cant see them 3 matching their goals from last year, Keita/Shaqiri and maybe Sturridge might weigh in 20 between them though

Will City drop off enough? The rest of the league have stood still, I think we will both steamroll most sides.

Whilst I am buzzing with our transfers so far and with have without a doubt improved the starting XI I still feel we are one or two short and that the depth of the squad overall is not quite there

For arguments sake...I want to see two good options for each position so based on that

                            Starting XI

                            Alisson

                            Robertson
                            Vvd
                            Lovren
                            Trent

                            Fabinho
                            Henderson
                            Keita

                            Mane
                            Firminho
                            Salah

That is ****ing amazing and like last season, we keep that lot fit for the majority of it and we are going to be challenging

                            Second XI

                            Karius

                            Clyne
                            Matip
                            Klavan
                            Moreno

                            Milner
                            Wijnaldum
                            Lallana

                            Shaqiri
                            Ings
                            Sturridge

This is where I have a couple of concerns

Matip misses to many games, Klavan is ok at best, lallana misses to many games, so does sturridge and Ings or solanke don’t score enough

With Ox out for the season I’d argue we are another AM ie fekir and maybe one more quality cb away from really being there

If Matip an klavan do well and Gomez steps up his game a bit then we might be fine in defence

But I do have a worry about midfiel

With regards to the front three, we really need two out of the below to pull their finger out and give us some reliable options

                            Sturridge
                            Ings
                            Solanke
                            Markovic
                            origi

If it was fantasy football/champ manager then I’d sell

                            Klavan
                            Grujic
                            Sturridge
                            Markovic
                            Origi

And bring in a new CB, Fekir and find another Shaqiri type signing for the attacking positions

As I say I’m buzzing with what we have dimes so far and can’t wait for the season to start....but one or two more would really be the icing on the xake
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

To be fair to Scratch, we had the top scorer and best signing last season and finished 4th.
