Why turn up with a defensive mindset- looking to pinch it - but still play you’re first choice front 3 the whole way? Just run them into the ground chasing scraps. Nothing about this set up/ tactics made sense.

Don't think it was defensive. Klopp said that they "didn't have time to prepare playing this way", so maybe Napoli made us play the game we didn't want.

Klopp just said that we had to run too much and the game was intense and we 'caused the intensity of the game ourselves'. Not sure what game you were watching really. I thought since the beginning we allowed them to press and harry us and we played at their pace. You cannot do this in away games. We need far better control.

In this run of horrific games I'll take the two losses we've had so far. As long as we don't lose against City I'll be very happy. The form is worrying obviously.

We got over run in midfield and lost control, Trent was also targeted all game. Better side won and ancellotii got tactics spot on.

Ancelotti had the game he wanted definitely and defensively they were spot on all game.

**** that was a tough watch, even the TV went on the blink in the second half.

There seemed to be a negative mindset throughout not helped by the first 15 minutes when they took turns in giving the ball away and allowing Napoli to build their confidence.

I thought Napoli might have been fragile after their game against Juve at the weekend but we didn't exploit that. On the plus side maybe we've lulled them into a false sense of security for the home leg.

so then why wouldnt klopp alter the formation to give us more control of the midfield which would then take some pressure off our defence. it would be fine to compromise our attacking threat, yet we'd still be able to counter when the game opened up without us hanging our balls out everytime we sent our full backs up the pitch.

we used to play a very measures tactical away game in europe, but tonight we looked like it was our first ever visit abroad...

Best team won, simple as. They did a great job of dislocating our midfield and strikers.

I can see them getting at least 1 result against PSG

They were excellent, were bang up for and played it like they had a point to prove. We went into it as just another CL game.

The amount of times they saved the ball from crossing the line while it seemed our lads had given up showed the difference in commitment.

Very disappointed in our play yesterday , it looked like some of our players were dead on their legs already

Surely with our bigger squad time for some freshness to be brought onto the pitch.

The front three seem to be working individually to me rathern than last year when they were at times telepathic with their movement and passing.

I was a little surprised to see Keita being the only initial change in our line-up. We will be going into late October/November, with the majority of our back-up players lacking minutes.

I suppose it doesn't help that we've played some big teams, but we do need to mix it up a bit more. I was hoping for one change in the full-back area, and Shaqiri to feature.

Then again, last night could've just been an absolute stinker, and a complete write-off.
