We are in effect discussing how contact caused by momentum should be dealt with. The Didi incident as Calvoboy says was about being out of control. And yes it was two footed. But in what way was VVD 'in control'? I thought it was acknowledged now that it is not enough simply to be able to point out you got the ball first. Maybe I have got myself confused.

I agree though about not wanting football to be a non-contact sport but I think this is another area where the laws are applied very inconsistently. And I did wonder a bit about the Allison header, but not for long because I was awash in awe.

Regarding the Alisson header, I think that could quite easily have been given as a foul. If two outfield players went for a header and one lead with his knee, then I think the ref would blow for a freekick, and possibly a yellow card...it was just as dangerous as leading with your elbow, especially given Alisson's knee was nearly level with their players head, the amount of height he got on his leap.

Still, it looked ****in' impressive, and it will give other opposition players something to think about should they want to risk it in a similar situation.
