    Surprise signing?

In the Jan window, ALA Fowler last year. Anyone care to have a guess at who we might get totally out of the blue?

IE: Someone who isn't spouted all over the forums day in , day out.

Lucas Neill? Has he signed for Rovers or not?

Quaserma (sp?) for me. Said it when those ****ers where whining for Joquaim, still crying for it.

GH could also do us a great favour and we could get Juninho.

Like you Nic i'd love to see Joey Barton arrive, i think he's a quality player and would relish the chance to play for us.
He would fit into the 'surprise signing' category wouldn't he though?

Quaresma would never cut it in the prem,he struggles to be consistent in the portugese league and couldnt handle the spanish league.

I posted a while back that I heard Upson was signing in jan and I have heard that he has already agreed terms with us and is expecting the deal to go through.

I think Neil will definitly be joining us either in january or the summer transfer window.

We were linked strongly with an argentine striker a while back (higuain?) and aparently he is going to leave in jan and wants to come to the prem so maybe we will get him.

Very, very strange if true, Sami's got another season or 2 left at least,
Agger is a cracking prospect and will probably become Carra's regular defensive partner in the not so distant future and
Paletta looks like another good prospect(Argie as well), not to mention the young lads like Hobbs and Antwi coming through the ranks.

In other words - we don't need Matthew Upson anywhere near Anfield.

Neill should defo be here in January, Rafa only need offer Blackburn a tour of the trophy room and couple of tracksuits seeing as he's out of contract in July.

Saying that, Hughes is a Manc (in spirit), therefore hates us and his ****hole side is in a relegation fight.

Neill's ours or Barca's, he may choose to stay until end of season and see where we end up in the league.

Sami's season or 2 should be spent on the bench or somewhere else IMO. Agger is the future and should be left in the side now to grow as an Anfield regular.

I think we need an older player with a bit of nouse in midfield or attack. I thought Fowler would be the man but he hasn't got experience of winning and neither has he played enough games for us. I can't think of anyone who I could think of being ideal for the role.

I guess the closest thing would be Beckham.

your talking 3-4 seasons ago here, he was bought as a young lad to Barca being labelled Figo's heir, of course he didnt live up to expectations....he has matured greatly in the last year though, similar style to C.Ronaldo, however Quaresma has a better end product. Puts in some wicked crosses, dip, curl, pace. Exactly what we need.

He's not a Rafa type of player though, so its only going to happen in FM 2007.

Was Simao not also thought of as Figo's heir - I guess it has become as much of an Albatross as Argentinians labelled the new Marradona.

I reckon Didi Hamann could return.

If you think about it, it makes sense. He's not being used at Citeh, and we all know he'd do a job for us.

That I'd have no problem with at all. Can't see why we didn't keep him on when we had the option

He wanted regular games and so we did right by him letting him leave if he wanted to. We were willing to give him a contract with no guarentee of him ever playing but he wanted to do his job.

Not sure why people think he could do a job for us but not City. In principle I would love him back but I have my doubts that he would cut it anymore.
