5 points clear of second place and 7 clear of third after 5 games is impressive.

We need to push home the advantage. Same as City two seasons ago, they built a pretty much unassailable lead by Christmas meaning when they did eventually drop points it didn’t matter.

Yeah, but that season there were no other teams capable of keeping up with City’s pace. Even if we’re still leading by Christmas, I can’t see City dropping enough points to leave us having anything like the 15 points over them that they did on Utd by Christmas 17/18.

From last season in particular we know that they are capable of putting together a run of 14 wins or whatever it was at the end of last season. We just need to keep winning and not worry about what they do.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It is, but I doubt we’re going to have ‘that’ amount of breathing room that City had in 17/18.

Although, I didn’t think we’d have a 5 point gap this early either

Yep, and it’s a great position to be in already.

Hopefully other teams realise they CAN get a result against City now. They are not unbeatable.

I think the key is to beat the teams we should and then we have breathing room for the big games. If we can keep this 5 point gap or enhance it then it puts some pressure on City. Though there is a Long long way to go.

We look very good just now, the attacking flair of two years ago is returning. A well oiled machine sparking into life.

And without the worlds best keeper!

The rest of the league actually having a go against City this season could make all the difference.

That time the likes of Burnley and west ham dropped half their team v city was a disgrace

Otamendi and Stones are a car crash when building from the back, I hope more teams press them!

The likes of West Ham, Watford and Sheffield Utd should just stifle them and see what happens!

Now teams have seen them flap they will go at them, they've got nothing to lose.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Otamendi was most culpable - Stones passed to him and immediately told him to pass back to the keeper but Otamendi decided to dawdle - loved his reaction

Can't believe how many goals have been scored so far - Aguero and Abraham have 7 each already with plenty of fives and fours (including Salah and Mane)

How many goals have been scored as a result of the new rule that you can pass inside your penalty area from a goalkick?

Just because you can do that now it doesn't mean you have to!
