I wouldn't be so sure. Everything has to be wrapped up for the league to stand: winners, European qualifiers and relegation issues. They can't award the title to us and not decide these other issues.

For these issues all the games need to me completed or there will be legal challenges from the sides who are relegated because they believe that they have had a harder set of fixtures than the sides around them. For that reason the season will have to either be completed or cancelled, I don't say anything in between being possible.

And if the title was mathematically decided, then that’s the one aspect nobody would have cause to challenge.

I don't think anyone would challenge us getting the title, but as I say that won't be the issue. Everything needs to be sorted, the CL and Europa League and relegation positions need to be agreed. The teams who get relegated or miss out on Europe will argue it was an unfair system as not everyone played the same fixtures.

As I see it the only 'fair' options are to run the season to completion or make 2020-21 a restart of this season with the 2019-20 season forgotten about. Obviously we would be the biggest losers but the FA and League will have to do what they see as fairest to most teams and we are probably in the minority of teams that would lose out...

It just seems to be going that way. Arteta has it, likely someone else at Arsenal has it. Stories of other players from other clubs having it. Football will become secondary and league will be suspended.

Yes, all the complicated decisions of Europe, relegation and promotion will need to be made one way or another anyway. A title winner isn’t necessarily needed. But if that’s already mathematically decided anyway then that seems like the easiest and fairest part of all to resolve.
