Quite possibly, although ahead of this final and anticipated conditions in Madrid, a training camp in Spain makes sense. I hope we get some kind of practice match in beforehand though

All the media show LFC players having fun in Marbella eating wonderful food, lying around on floating unicorns etc whilst the spuds media show players in pain and trying hard..

      Dunno maybe I'm overworried...

TS pointed out the climate conditioning will be opitmal vs cold North London I guess we will find out..

I just hope the pain of losing last year will be motivation enough...
I wouldn’t worry There is tons of footage of the lads training hard also.

It is a ridiculous wait, but we experienced it last year. Will be interesting to see how Spurs cope.

The pain of losing last year has to be ultimate motivation.

I don’t know what else they are supposed to do with a 3 week gap? Get away from the media and focus on training and the match.

If we lose to Spurs it won’t be because of a trip to Marbella.

Just read a Mourinho interview, which I thought was going to be inflammatory against Klopp, but I forgot this is his third Champions League Final, and he just said that if we lost, it'd be really hard for Klopp.

The opposition for the previous two finals, Bsyern Munich and Real Madrid, that's fine. Spurs can do one though.

I find it reassuring that they can relax like that - they've done this before and it's surely less of a big deal to them. Compare that to Spurs who will have more fear. If we seem relaxed that can only be unnerving for Spurs. Rome '84 anyone?

With this especially long gap before the final I think the big danger is it builds up in your head too much. I think going away is the perfect way to negate that. Let the lads train then chill out in the sun. No distractions. I think it makes sense.

The 2 previous trips really ****ed us up on our way to 97 points and reaching the CL final with what looks to be every single player available.

Getting out the City for a bit is definitely a good thing and away from friends and family after tickets, flights and accommodation.

Good team bonding then home to see the family and the city then off to bring the cup back

I really don't believe what we or Spurs do till the game will have any real effect on who wins.

As ever, it will be about the game, how on form each player/team feels on the night, and who's chances go in or not.

A good rest did **** all for Barca, after all.

The prospect of this match is making me feel a bit ill. The prospect of not winning again, especially to a club as odious and annoying as Spurs is really bothering me.

What happens if we lose? To Spurs?! So we have beaten them twice this season, but those games were tight - they can beat anyone on their day and the gap to the final really allows them (and us) to rest their small and tired squad. This is a one off game - I know Liverpool can beat anyone on their day, but so can they. Urgh

The key is not to even entertain thoughts of us losing it. I know it can be easier said than done, but as soon as you notice you’re doing it, think about somethings else.

Do you think there is anything the club and its staff can do between now and the 1st that changes the probability of the players walking out onto the pitch in form with a positive, confident attitude and feeling 'up for it'?

Not really, i think being 'up for it' is a given tbh, it all comes down to how you feel on the night for me now, and i don't believe there's anything different we can do that we don't do for all games that will have any real bearing on whether we win or not.

We are a well oiled machine more than capable of winning this game in style, not taking our scorable chances is all that stands in our way.

Poch not managing to play the press quite as effortlessly as Klopp.

Mauricio Pochettino's joke backfires as Real Madrid release official statement

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino's apparent joke about where his team would stay in Madrid for the Champions League final appears to have backfired - and prompted Real Madrid to release an official statement.

The Argentine, who has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu in the past, was discussing Spurs' plans for the final against Liverpool at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on 1 June.

"Ahead of the final, we will train at Valdebebas [Real's training complex] and sleep in a nearby hotel," he told El Partidazo de Cope.

"I asked Florentino [Perez, Real's president] to let us sleep in the sports centre, but he told me that I can only sleep there when I become the coach of Real Madrid."

Cue a "Comunicado Oficial" from the 13-time European champions, who re-appointed manager Zinedine Zidane in March.

Real said they were "surprised by the demonstrations" made by Pochettino about a "supposed request" to stay at their training ground.

"Real Madrid wants to make it clear that it is outright false that this request was produced," they said.

They said they had "always shown its absolute availability" to meet the requests of Uefa, Spurs and Liverpool and requests were only for "the use of the training camps of the Ciudad Real Madrid and its changing rooms".

Tottenham will be training at Real on 30 and 31 May and Liverpool will use the facilities on the morning of 1 June.

"At no time has our club been requested that these teams could be accommodated in the facilities of Ciudad Real Madrid," they added.

Pochettino, who has four years left on his contract, has previously hinted he could leave Spurs if they win the European Cup.

He has also said he would be "stupid" to stay at the club if they expect similar levels of success without changing the way they are run - having not signed a player since 31 January 2018.

But he told the Spanish radio show: "I will not make decisions about my future [until] after the final, it is important to know what the club's future plan is.

"Real Madrid? I have no other goals if I am not training Tottenham; football takes you where you deserve."
