Its a nothing competition and just for the glory for the sponsors, whose profile we have just raised to interstellar levels, so just bin it.

It's harder to win the Commmunity Shield than the world club cup.

              Yet we dismiss the former.

Euro champs versus South American champs in a 2 legged affair. Job done. The rest of the world doesn't have any teams worthy of inclusion. **** them.

It's 2 single leg games. We'll go in at the Semi Final stage vs the winners of the Copa Libertadores. Then we'll play a team from another region in the Final or the 3rd place playoff.

Not worth disrupting our league season for imo.

                  I'm not disagreeing.

If we want to be the best team in the World. This is the sort of stuff we need to be going to and winning.

                    Its 2 games

Whatever anyone here thinks, the fixture schedule is going to be interrupted by this and we are going to be sending a squad of senior players, it looks like it is going to be 2 games regardless, so we might as well take it seriously and go for the trophy, whether it is viewed as prestigious or a micky mouse trophy by us, the players likely won't get many chances to play in this so I imagine they will want to win it too.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I honestly don't think I've ever heard the words 'World Club Cup' come into the conversation when the best team in the World is being talked about

It means at least 2 PL games being rearranged for March-May. That's a period of the season where we're potentially going to have a lot of 2/3 games per 7 day periods as it is. It might not sound like a lot, but in reality it is.

Klopp's always talking about how teams have to play too much, too frequently.
I bet you he's not happy about this either!

I'm desperate for us to win the league. I think going to Qatar at a key point in the season for a tournament that most of Europe doesn't care about is a headache we don't need.

You get to where that God-awful gold-coloured patch on the front of your shirt in any UEFA matches though if you win it.
