“Liverpool is unique. It is different to Atlético, for example,” he continues. “I’m from here and I love Atlético because my heart is here. But as a club, at Liverpool I felt at home even though I was not from there. The relationship between the workers, the people in the offices, the people around the team and the fans – it is special.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostHe's an Atletico boy through and through. “I never felt at Chelsea or even at Atlético the same way I did at Liverpool. At Liverpool, they made me feel like a king. I really felt like I could do anything. I remember playing my first game at Anfield. Pepe [Reina] came and said, ‘Look at the atmosphere – this is where you need to be. You do not get this at Atlético.’ After the game, I told Pepe that I thought I could score in every single game at Anfield. As soon as I stepped on to the pitch: goals. I was flying. Not only because I was the best age to play football but also because of the atmosphere around the club. It was magic.”
“But then I think I would never change my time in Liverpool. I needed to move. I found something great, special and different. It was my happiest time as a player. To feel the love of a community where you haven’t grown up — it is hard for me to describe what this meant to me.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Come on Chris mate!

A **** footballer who had a hot streak while here. Massive cunt as well.
Just kidding, I made peace with it at that charity game, was a nice moment with his song and that. And can't really blame him for wanting out, even if things were just picking up with the new owners and Kenny it was still going to be a long process. Should never have joined them scumbags though but I think he knows that.
Couldn't believe how good he was when he joined, think I was one of the ones who wanted Darren Bent instead. I remember that Reading game early on where Duberry, Bikey and co pretty much were trying to assault him everytime he got the ball while Martin Corruptkinson just watched and he went and scored a hattrick.Last edited by Chris; 21-06-19, 07:44 PM.

That was a great read. The last few paras - I almost came to tears. He clearly regrets quite a lot. But hey, you can't change the past and he still had a great career.Originally posted by Chiccada View PostTorres was a phenom whilst he was here. Was gutted when he left.
Just read this which is a couple years old now. When you see it from his point of view, I kind of get it. Good read.
