It’s not like we’ve got £60m or 70m invested in Div is it. We’ve sold Shaq so there should be a place for an overseas player to bring in now if we’ve identified someone.

Maybe the money has been reinvested in securing the future of Virgil, Trent, Elliot, Robbo etc? And we’ve spent £36m on a central defender.

Also, we favour developing players and we do things differently. Divock was not even on the bench yesterday. Maybe he will be sold, but it’s not easy of these players are already on high wages.

Someone posted a link in the dealings of Chelsea yesterday, and whatever money they spend on players, they recoup it through selling their young players, those on the fringes, so they don’t spend without balancing the books.

In any case, why would we bring another player in when we have someone like Elliot who is clearly talented and ready to push on? That would be stopping his development and a ridiculous thing to do.
    Are we winning?

I would love another attacker, because we'll be a little light in the striking department if Mane is fading, but Harvey takes Shaq's place and needs minutes, Jones as well, if those two keep progressing we'll look well stocked in midfield soon.
      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Yeah I know we’re not Chelsea & neither do I want us to be. I’m pretty happy with our midfield but would still like to see someone up front to replace Origi. He’s obviously out of favour & Gordon isn’t expected to see much playing time just yet so that only leaves Minamino to cover for the usual front 4 which isn’t ideal with Sadio’s mixed form.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

We rely on Mo to get us out of trouble so often. Jota is a goal threat but Klopp just cannot get over starting Bobby. 2 in 2 and then dropped, must be very frustrating and Jota was poor when he came on too couldn't get into the game. As for Mane, I just don't really know what to say he was bloody awful.

We need more options to break down teams, it is the same issue as last season. Things aren't happening, we need a goal so who do we bring on? Ox is average, Minamino is average, Keita won't get you many goals or assists, Origi is useless. City have goals everywhere and really do well to spread them out over the side, United are stacked with attacking options and will have goals coming from everywhere. Chelsea have added Lukaku to get them more goals after they added Werner, Havertz & Ziyech last season to get them more goals. Obviously we don't have their spending power but surely we could have added to the ranks.

The lack of goals other areas is not a new concern and I really did think we would have addressed that and got another attacking option in & a replacement for Gini. Doesn't seem to be happening and we will have to rely on Mo again.

I think the fact he started against Chelsea means he will be regularly appearing in the team.

It's not a personnel issue, the players have the talent, it's about better decision making around the box, more one touch play, more risk, including occasionally through the centre or from the edges of the box as opposed to always going for the cross.

At least that's my opinion and that's why I don't think it works to say yea just buy someone who will come in and score more goals.

I never said he did, I said he was added to their ranks in to bring more goals to the side. Read my posts man ffs

I would like a wide forward as well, a young and upcoming player, like that young kid from Belgium who plays for Rennes. Not the end of the world if we don’t sign anyone as I’m sure it will happen at some point with a succession plan for Sadio, Mo and Bobby, who by the way are far from being finished.

I agree with alot of this and the decision making is an issue. Clearly all our 4 attackers are very talented but Mane has been way off his best for a season now, Firmino only scores a handful of goals and Jota will be rotated when Firmino is fit. If Mo doesn't get us out of a hole, not many others do, we are just so lucky we have such an incredible player in him.

It's a long season, it would be nice to actually compete on all fronts but I don't think we have the squad to do that, imo the drop off in quality is just too much. For me, bringing in a replacement for Gini who was a brilliant player for us and then bringing in another attacker to add goals was a no brainer. Obviously it's not as easy as just as picking a target and signing him, we aren't flush and we sell to buy alot of the time... That's without throwing covid into the mix.

The more goals coming from different areas the better. It makes us more unpredictable and harder to play against. So in a way imo I suppose it is a personnel issue.

In terms of the balance sheet every time they extend a contract they reduce the amortisation cost on each player.

The progress he's made since last season is tremendous. The loan spell at Blackburn has done him the world of good.

We should be doing much more of this, real football for our top prospects
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

If it were up to me, loan move for Coutinho to give some competition to mane on the left. If he was cleared of injury issues, he'd be perfect to have against the low blockers.

Would definitely give sadio a challenge too.

Yip same here. Could replace both Origi and shaq and play as a wide forward or attacking midfielder.

Hopefully he wouldn't need to play at all but would be a good option on the bench

Alot of people on here seem to be of the opinion that going out on loan is the death knell for their LFC careers

absolutely. We do need that little something extra going forward, Chelsea was a reminder of what several teams did to us last season. I am just surprised we haven't addressed it & the CM. Purse strings rather tight & concentrating on renewing existing contracts it seems.
