People forget he was first choice over Dom in Klopp's midfield end of last season.

He can bust a bollock too, just lacks a bit of physicallity. Seems roughly the same size as Macca, but still filling out.

Perhaps.one can sit on the others shoulders and they can become MacElliott, destroyer of worlds, or something.

he has a great attitude. works hard and he does seem to offer good production when he plays: 4 Goals - 11 assists last season to Dom's 3 Goals 5 Assists ( Given he played more games) . He is a small dude though & doesn't have the ground speed of Szob.

If we could mix them both and have the physicality of Szob & the craft and guile of Elliot, we'd have some player. Szob frustrates me a bit & I just think there's much better player in there than we've seen in his time here (Apart from first few months when he looked like a world beater). Elliot is still young and had a nasty break a few years back which stifled him. I would imagine Elliot it's not out of the realms him considering an exit to get more game time & I reckon he'd do well elsewhere. Maybe we need an upgrade on both?

Think to get an upgrade on Szobo you would need to be spening an awful lot of money and getting someone that is very close to world class. That mix of physicality, work rate and technique is hard to find.

Think you would be talking about someone like Valverde or Camavinga. That sort of mix of qualities and at the level of either I mean.


Elliot is a different story as he is still a young player that is developing so whilst he would be easier to upgrade upon at present, he does have that "how good could he be in two or three years?" thing to him. Do think how we play does not quite suit Elliot (in terms of being a starter - coming on against tiring legs is a different story) but at the same time I do think there is a very good player there but whether that is to become a David Silva style player or more a James Maddison level one I don't know.

He was first choice on merit last year. I think he should be getting more minutes. Slott doesnt seem to trust him, but he adds guile taht is totally lacking up front. I think he could do a job alongside Salah, who needs things set up for him as he cant really do it on his own anymore. Jota was a mess today, and i think Elliott shold be given a go at false nine.

Good play from Nunez too. He needs to do that more. He seems better as a provider than a scorer.

It’s a bit ironic as if Salah was still on the pitch, I don’t think he would have been left with the amount of space Elliot found himself in. PSG really shut Salah down today but not viewing Elliot as the same kind of threat was their mistake.
