Liverpool vs Norwich - Premier League (19/20 - Game 1)

That was an odd game, first half we were good attack wise and poor defensively, 4-0 at half time flattered us. We didn't really come out second half, which made it a non-entity. As I said it would have been an ideal game to give Brewster a run out, disappointed we didn't have him on the bench.

We need to improve defensively, but it was a good comfortable win which is all you can really ask for.

Bobby was class tonight.

Some of the players look like they are still in preseason but that's predictable. That said, there were plenty of signs we're getting there. Front three look raring to go, defence needs more work but maybe the Chelsea free hit can help that learning curve.

Allison is a worry though.

We killed them in first half, we ve switched off massively in second. Trent and Joe been so poor defensively. Thought Bobby man of match. Think Allison going off messed up subs plan.

Agree with you but especially the bit in bold. I’m surprised Matip didn’t start but I’d expect him to start the next Prem match after watching that.

So it sounds like Allison pulled his calf. Not sure on that injury. Maybe 6-8 weeks depending on the grade. Klopp saying it's unlikely to be a straight forward strain. No one will know until a scan but early signs seem like weeks, maybe a few months.

Trent is great with the ball at his feet but not wonderful at defending but he'll shake off the cobwebs. Matip is better than Joe at the moment so I'd prefer him back in the middle.

Definitely calf and also more like a pull than a strain. I've only ever had a tight calf so I've no personal experience to call on.

Matip offers something bringing the ball out from the back whereas Joe sometimes players it to a team mate & puts them under pressure. He’ll get better with minutes under his belt but I’d prefer to play Joel for now.
