We'll have them at ours i suspect.

Erling Braut Haaland (aye, son of) may disrupt these CL league a little. He looks frighteningly good from the very little i've seen of him.
It will be interesting to see how he goes against VVD and Koulibally - all his goals in the Austrian league and vs Genk. He does look a prospect though - big strong lad also

We were misfiring and Napoli are a good team at home. Conditions were tough and I thought Robertson was just feeling his injury. We did enough to earn a draw though, so it's a little tough to take especially when the penalty was really, really soft.

I'm not worrying though - although we do need some LB cover.

Total VARce... after the first Premier League games I said it'd kill the spirit of the game and with Matip's grappling on Saturday, then last night - VAR is not about getting the right decisions at all, it's about defending the referee's decision. **** all about getting the right decision. They're going to harp on about 'no clear and obvious error' for every ****ing bad decision they don't overturn. It stinks. So much for the 'everyone will be happy to wait if they want to see the correct decision' bull**** when the delays were causing mayhem last season and in the World Cup... Utter ****e.

From the reverse angle, it does look like Robertson caught the player with the standing leg.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Obviously the penalty changed the game, and **** happens. At this stage I'm not too bothered, I'd rather a slip up like that in the CL than the PL. Hopefully it just reinforces to the players that we need to focus and keep working hard to get results

I thought is was a ****ing great game, the first 15 minutes was toe to toe top class football. Brave on the ball, one-touch electric pace. The game settled and you could argue we were the team very much in control, probing. They are lightening fast on the counter and I definitely think Andy was carrying a knock. Game became stretched in the 2nd half and a little chaotic and then they got a dodgy penalty in the dying minutes of the game. We played well, but we lost a game we could easily afford to lose as much as nobody likes to lose a game of football.

Not bothered to view all the angles available, but how close to the defender's foot is Robbo's left foot? Is that the first contact, or is it camera angle?

It's just not a ****ing penalty. No matter what angle you look at. He dives before this is any contact. Even if there is contact it's not enough to throw yourself in the air.

If first contact is with the feet, then he dives at that point (not disputing the fact that he threw himself to the floor).

Either way tho, Robbo has hung a leg out and at that point we are at the mercy of the ref and VAR.

I think no one can complain about the ref giving the penalty. At the time, I thought it was harsh, but I’m always unbelievably biased..

Just frustrating that var doesn’t intervene- the ref should have been told to go look at the replay. I don’t like var- that 5 second grace period before you fully celebrate goals, etc... but if it’s being used, they need a better system. Unless it’s a clear foul, all penalties should be reviewed.

Anyway, there’s fack all we can do about it now. I think we need a Chelsea thread, so we can put this behind us!

                            Wow

Napoli midfielder Allan has reportedly been ordered to pay 50 per cent of his monthly salary back to the club as punishment for the training camp mutiny has begun.

After their Champions League draw with RB Salzburg earlier this month, Carlo Ancelotti's men refused to go on the training retreat organised by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis which has led to a civil war inside the Naples club.

Allan has been hit with a £171 million fine for his row with vice-president and De Laurentiis' son Edo, according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport.
