While most people have commented on the kids, I think that it is also worth mentioning that Milner was outstanding yesterday. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Oh dear - from The Athletic just now
Liverpool could be thrown out of the Carabao Cup if they are found to have fielded an ineligible player in their third-round victory over MK Dons.
The Athletic can exclusively reveal that the EFL have launched an investigation after it emerged one of the Liverpool players involved in Wednesday’s 2-0 win may not have satisfied the registration criteria to feature in the competition.
Victory set up a home tie with Arsenal at Anfield next month but Liverpool’s continued involvement in this season’s Carabao Cup is now in doubt.
A Liverpool spokesman told The Athletic: “The club are aware of a potential administrative issue pertaining to one of our players.
“We are working with the relevant authorities in order to establish the facts of the matter and will be making no further comment until this process is complete.”
If it is proven that Liverpool broke competition rules then the EFL must decide whether to issue a fine or throw the European champions out of the competition.
Carabao Cup rules state that organisers have “full power” to investigate alleged breaches and impose “penalties by way of reprimand, fine or other penalty (or any combination thereof)” as they “may think fit in the circumstances”.
If found to have fielded an ineligible player, Liverpool will point to the precedent set by the punishment dished out to Sunderland in 2014.
The North East club escaped with a fine after striker Ji Dong-Won appeared in their League Cup victory over MK Dons — despite Sunderland failing to gain international clearance for the South Korea international after he returned from a loan spell at Augsburg.
Jurgen Klopp made 11 changes for the tie at MK Dons, handing full debuts to goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, striker Rhian Brewster and 16-year-old attacker Harvey Elliott.
Academy midfielder Herbie Kane and centre-back Sepp van den Berg, a summer signing from Dutch club PEC Zwolle, also made their senior bows for the club as substitutes against the League One outfit.
There was also a rare opportunity for Portuguese midfielder Pedro Chirivella, who came off the bench having not featured for the first team for more than three years.
The identity of the player in question remains unclear.
An EFL spokesman told The Athletic: “We are currently considering the matter.”

Obvious good points from this game.
Harvey Elliot looks like the real deal and definitely a player who can step up to the first team. The young Irish keeper looked decent. The majority of players looked like, if you put them in with the senior team, they would get by.
Naby got a lot of minutes into his legs.
Negative from the game, Milner was obviously the best player on the pitch in every single department. Some of the other Senior players did not stand out from the young ones. But thats nit picking, they need game time consistently to get up to speed.
We controlled the game very much the same the first team does, run them around the pitch for 60 to 70 minutes, if they switch off we hurt them, then in the last 20 when they dont have the gaz tank to keep up with us, we hurt them.Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

If it is Pedro then he's been with us for 3 years ffs. It's an administrative oversight rather than aggressive deceit or even wilful negligence. We should be rightfully rapped, but anything more would be ridiculous for a cup that's already dying. The cup needs clubs like ours than vice versa. Just man city winning it year after year isn't raising its profile or importance that much. One tit for another.

The mirror article on it says that the club believe that they applied for the correct clearance in July but an administrative issue at the FA was the problem. Kick us out! If we make the semis our schedule is going to be an utter mess. West Ham league game already needs re-arranging, if we get past Arsenal we then have to play our quarter final in semi final 1st leg week as we are in Qatar during QF week and there’s no other date then get through that and we have a 2 legged semi to fit in.
