That's such a terrible attitude.Originally posted by Cormack74 View PostThere's zero chance we will be thrown out IMO. They need as many big clubs involved as possible to keep the competition meaningful.
If we broke the rules ard the punishment is expulsion then that's what we deserve.

Agree with spud, this should have nothing to do with it. We should get whatever punishment is consistent with the rules and previous instances - judging by that it seems only a fine anyway which I find a bit astonishing tbh!Originally posted by Cormack74 View PostThere's zero chance we will be thrown out IMO. Indeed it should not, but as I inferred above, if you worked in a senior capacity for the EFL I suspect your decision might be weighted in favour of pragamatism.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostAgree with spud, this should have nothing to do with it. There is no precedent for anyone being thrown out, it's always a fine
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

West Ham won a tie but had to replay it because they fielded an ineligible player then lost the replay about 20 years ago, I don't know if that is the one you mean? I read that Sunderland were the last team to field an ineligible player about 4 years ago and they just got a fine.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostWeren't West Ham thrown out a few years back? The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

yeah the player was cup tied though.
Few years ago they got fined for playing someone that hadn't gone turned up for ACN duty due to being 'injured' but played in the game while the tournament was still on

Yes Chirivella, it was international clearance because he was on loan in europe last season and something hadn't been sorted out about him coming back was what I read.Originally posted by baitman View PostMaybe there are different levels of ineligibility depending on how blatant it is?
Who was ineligible, Chirivella? And why wasnt he eligible? The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
