Sheffield Utd vs Liverpool - Premier League (19/20 - Game 7)
the Trent 'thing' is interesting, does get caught behind a bit. Salah helped him a lot in their first season but its stopped, whenever Henderson/Milner help him out we tend to struggle in the middle and higher up so just moving the problem. This system is so organised doesn't take much to throw it off balance.
How many times has it actually cost us? Just need to accept it as part of this system and take it on the chin when it fails. Would like us to adjust when we need to see games out though.
I think if teams do their prematch planning on pressing the keeper and targeting Trent, Klopp will take that all day tbh.
The whole right side looked disjointed yesterday & Hendo was a big part of that imo. I was thinking Klopp might take TAA off for the more defensive minded Gomez which would have strengthened us up at the back & stifled their plan of playing in behind us. Problem is though that Hendo doesn’t offer as much offensively as TAA. Strengthen one while weakening another so to speak. Ox offers an outlet on the right side so hopefully he kicks on soon. I’m glad it’s the bosses dilemma & not mine anyway.

The ideal solution is to play gomez as the more defensive right back, and play taa (instead of henderson) as a more attacking right sided midfielder to stil give us the balance
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
What worried me was they did the same thing time & time again with long balls in behind TAA in particular & we didn’t adjust to combat it. Matip did well considering how much he was left exposed but the right side where terrible tonight. Hendo seemed to be given the task of slotting in at RB when Trent bombed on but it didn’t work at all. That was horrible to watch & hopefully just a blimp in the road.
That's been a clear tactic in our play for a while now, not just with henderson or on the right side, you also see Milner or Wijnaldum drop into that pocket when the fullback goes on a run.
I think it's a clever piece of movement because they often have the time and space there to get their head up and switch play or cover an opposition counter.
