Gomez and Lallana looked brilliant for me. Good to see Gomez return to boss mode. Did well next to a young defender who was struggling badly.

And Neco Williams!! We know his name now. A debut to rival Jon Flanagan.

Thought Lallana was one of the worst players on the pitch myself, painfully slow to release the ball imo. Gomez did well considering kids all around him.

I thought that the kids did well but weren't really helped by many of the senior players.

Kelleher did alright, of the goals that we conceded I don't think that he was really at fault for any of the goals.

The defence, Gomez did well holding things together, I thought that van den Berg looked naive in the way that he played and this will be good experience for him. Williams I thought looked quite composed on the ball, but was caught out a bit positionally. Milner did ok that horrendous mistake aside.

Midfield I was rather disappointed with, I was somewhat expecting it to be unbalanced when I saw the lineup Ox was ok, Keita was quiet and I think Lallana was probably supposed to be playing the no 6 role which I don't fee suits him, we really lacked someone who could control the game in there and it showed. I think it would have been better to have Milner in there, but obviously that wasn't possible.

Elliott's performance was encouraging, he came looking for the ball alot, I just think that his final ball needs to improve, but he's 16 years old, if we can improve his decision making and final ball he could be one hell of a player. Origi and Brewster I didn't feel were really that involved, Origi just popped up with a couple of goals, I really wanted Brewster to get a goal as I think it would help him enormously.

Jones I thought was fantastic when he came on, and to be honest I was suprised that he didn't start this one, given his performance in the last round, Chirivella I thought did ok in the 10 mins or so that he was on.

That's fine, but when? The Quarter final needs to be postponed from w/c 16th Dec and the Semi final first leg is due w/c 6th Jan. And we have already have 6 other fixtures in between those 2 dates.

If we are lucky enough to get one of the league one sides I wonder if we might offer to stick to the original date and just let another coach, ressie coach or something do it and have Berg, Jones etc stay and play. Guess it depends how many of the squad he wants in Qatar.

And we’ll get Utd or Everton away anyway.
