I have sympathy for him in some respects; however over than a % deferefel, perhaps the millionaire footballer should have echoed these sentiments 12 weeks ago & saved his club a small fortune......Originally posted by rodo View Post

**** them, they're like cornered rats. Pity more than 3 can't go down. Would love to see West Ham, Watford, Brighton, Villa and Norwich drop. All this ****housing won't be forgotten easily.Originally posted by rodo View Post
My work are planning on sending me back into customers homes at the end of the month with gloves, face mask, paper suits and face shields. I don't want to but what can I do? I don't earn £100k a week like these pricks.

Thing is with footballers. There are plenty of other industries that are returning when they don’t really want too or feel safe.
So they are no different. If they don’t want to play, furlough them. But on a % of their wage. Can’t treat them as criminals for wanting to protect their family. But there has to be something in the fact that the players who are publicly vocal about this issue, are all in the bottom 5 clubs. It’s not a coincidence.
Just like it isn’t a coincidence that we want it to resume.*Except Michael, who died.

Yeah, they can see their income halving if football returns & they are relegated, they obviously don't want this; next up will be the self-serving PFA to stick their oar in.Originally posted by Alex View PostThing is with footballers. the players at these clubs are doing no favours to their respective clubs; eventually the majority will win this battle & play will resume; with or without these players.

Docking a multimillionaire a couple of weeks wages isn't going to make them poor again.Originally posted by rodo View Post
It's doubtful that he'll ever return to being poor and fair play to him.

Like I said yesterday, this will only get more ****ty and underhand.
Footballers will have to disregard distancing rules though so some consideration needs to be made in that regard. One obvious way to counter this is that they isolate with their squad for the duration of the remaining games and then for a fortnight at the end of the season. They've spent far more time with their families than they probably ever have and a load of them would've been away for weeks this summer playing in the Euros, I can't see much of a difference. The remaining games should be played at England's largest training facility so that the neutral ground card can't be used. All of them should reside on site for the duration and 2 weeks after. Perhaps at Sunderland's Academy of Light so that no one has an advantage but WTFDIK

It's bull****, an empty threat - they just know nobody will call them on it.Originally posted by Alex View PostThing is with footballers. There are plenty of other industries that are returning when they don’t really want too or feel safe.

There have been people on minimum wage who have worked throughout in Supermarkets, busses, cleaning the streets, emptying the bins let alone the NHS.
Of course we as supporters want the season started. But given what awaits them not a single player from Liverpool has gone to the press talking about the restart. Not a player from Sheffield Utd or Wolves on the brink of Champions League football. Only players from teams at the bottom.
Yep, if they dont want to play, dont play.
But they should have some awareness of people with **** all, who risked more just to ensure the rest of us could have food on our plates and not be knee deep in rubbish, before they complain about returning to a perfectly sanatised environment where they will have access to testing on multi million pound contracts.Modifying post.

The disconnect of these millionaires is astounding to me frankly. Being tested to go into work 2 times a week regardless of symptoms, is something that millions of others could have done with these last 2 months.
Its very easy to say you dont want to do something when you have cash behind you as a safety net. Plenty of others just dont have that luxury.*Except Michael, who died.
