Arguably 4, but the point is that the others on that list are the ones that would be taking their places for a large portion of games. Especially the centre backs.

It depends how you look at it though, with VVD and Gomez injured Matip and Kabak would have started if they had been fit. In fact take Ox and Milner out of there and I think if any of the others had been fit today they would have started. (You can argue Jota either way but given his performance midweek, I would say he should have started today if he was fit.)

12 league starts, 15 league games missed through injury.

I reckon he would be around 20 league starts but for injury, especially when you contrast his form with Mane and Firmino’s.

The main point is that we are still carrying a substantial injury list. And we have done throughout the season. Our bench looked very weak today.

The fact we're still around says a lot about our squad, character and strength in depth. We could still throw Shaqiri in second half and Gini was rested.

Oh there's no doubt the injury's have been catastrophic but it can't fully explain why we've been so poor this season.

Mo and Jota aside we have literally no consistent goal scoring threat.

Yes, but we don't have a fully fit squad. I feel that very often when talking about injuries people tend to over play the numbers for effect for example if you count your 3rd choice GK being injured when the first two are fit that really isn't an issue to complain too much about. If he's injured when you first choice 2 are injured then that's a massive issue even if those are the only injuries you have. I feel like what you are saying here is under playing it. While only 3 of those would start when everyone is fit in the context of todays game if any one of 5 or 6 of those were available they would have started IMO.

I think he might want to move Salah more central and bring someone else in to play wide or go with Mane and Jota either side of him.

As much as Bobby was the one who made us tick the last couple of years I feel the last 18 months or so things have not been right and I suspect that he will be the one to miss out.

I am also interested to see what we do with Elliott next year, he obviously isn't going to be thrown into the side but I'd like to see a Foden style introduction to the side, but it will be interesting to see what sort of position we consider he will play.
