It was the reddest red ever. Mane was touching that past Kepa and rolling it into and empty net.

It wasn't as though he even attempted to play the ball
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Nah, there's contact, he brushes the trailing leg which meant it the hit the back of Werner's other leg...kinda like when you trip you mates up by just tapping their ankle as the walk. It was a pen, but such is life. Werner never tried to initiate contact, and what contact there was forced the stumble.
If the ref hadn't given it, I think VAR would have recommended he take a second look.

There is contact, it's slight but with him running at pace it's probably enough to unbalance him. I suspect that Werner made the most of it though.
On a more general note I wonder if we will stick to the same threshold for awarding penalties all season, it seems that there have been a huge amount in the first couple of weeks of the season. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Wonderfully salty from Frank on the BBC interview re: the red card, doesn't want to answer questions on Kepa (despite the fact that he's the one who picked a player that is clearly on death row).......long may he reign in that job.
Less convincing is his belief in multiverse theory/alternate realities as a defence for his team - lot of 'if there wasn't a red card, it would have been 1-1 with the peno' that wasn't scored etc etc
Great stuff Frank. Keep it up."I will make the boys feel your support"

That twitter account is childish AF. Gets really touchy to any criticism tooOriginally posted by BigChief View PostWhat a stupid article. That was a clear penalty on Werner. I'm more interested to see replays of Salah's appeal in the first half that was not replayed, even once. It might have been nothing but I'd rather see a major-ish incident for myself thanks.

Fab was outstanding but we still need another CB and I suspect we will get one, thought Hendo was superb until the injury. Apart from them two I thought we were still a bit rusty today, both fullbacks weren't at it and Gini, Keita and Bobby were poor. With Thiago coming in now I think Keita will get less and less game time, I honestly just don't think he does enough to justify a start. Even Mane who scored the 2 goals took a long time to come into the game. Even with all that we cruised it, same with the Leeds game we played awful and still scored 4 and had 24 shots on goal.
When we click, it's going to be fun.Last edited by danperkins; 21-09-20, 06:37 AM.

Bobby provided the assist for the first goal. I’d like him to be poor like that week in week out.
There were no passengers in that team yesterday, maybe Naby who seemed a bit timid, but he might have followed instructions not to overdo in midfield. Are we winning?
