I wonder what Herbie Cain makes of it?

It's all about attitude. You've either got what it takes or you have not. To be capable of the journey that Williams has been on is what defines the haves from the the have nots.

He must be a true inspiration to all the loanees out there.

Also the coaching set up - first Pep and now Matos.....they develop the young players and find a path to the first team for them

I still can't get over his journey in the last 12 months, it's proper Boys Own stuff.

At the start of the season, Chesterfield were near the foot of the National League and their manager at the time, John Pemberton, actually tried to sign him on loan. He'd been his manager at Kidderminster the year before and obviously rated him. That the manager of a team about 20th in the Conference thought he had a chance to sign and actually tried to sign a Liverpool player who has gone on to do the things Rhys is doing now, speaks volumes about where he started the season and where he's at now - some four months later. It's ****ing mental.

The 2 times Rhys missed headers early in the 2nd half allowed the Bergwijn chances. I thought they were both poor decisions, he misjudged both, got underneath the first one and didn't get close to the second one but other than that I thought he did really well.

I don't think his future is with us, but I guess we figure he has resale value so get him tied to a deal...win win for club and player; he gets a weekly wage, we get a transfer fee. Same with the Nat Phillips deal.

I don't think he looked poor at all, his body isn't developed enough to be a first choice centre back in the PL but he did ok.
