Same - it could define so much going forward. Win without VVD and it’s a massive statement and confidence boost for the team - it also creates a fear factor for other sides. A bad loss could impact negatively in all the ways above.

I have no idea how this will go and no result would surprise me given City are not fully at it either. The idea of being wide open in midfield is a worry however because this lot can exploit any space

We have made a habit of conceding first recently.

I can see an open game, but suspect they will be too mobile for our defense to contain.

City are little less potent (or have been up to now) going forward this season. They might be more solid defensively with the arrival of Dias, but early days. I’ve seen them struggle to contain West Ham on the counter but they did well generally.

We’ll need to be precise in midfield and be wary of their press and counter press. Any mistake and we’ll be found out. Having said that, it’s practically impossible to maintain that kind of concentration levels against this lot.
          Are we winning?

I'll be happier with a 433 and whoever Klopp prefers from Bobby or Jota.
I think there is no good option for that third midfielder so sort of makes sense to put Jota in the team instead.

I'd hope its a much more solid 4411 than having the two midfielders isolated.

              Jota -Bobby-Salah Mane

              -----Keita-Hendo

              Robbo-Gomez-Matip-TAA

              bang on the nail again.

                Bobby in midfield?
                Oh I don't know.

                  I'd expect
                  -----------Becker
                  Trent- Matip - Gomez -Robertson
                  --Salah - Hendo- Gini- Mane
                  -----------Bobby
                  -----------Jota

With Mane/Salah getting on the ball a lot deeper and helping out the fullbacks a lot more.

Yeah, it's a weird season, it could be any result from us winning at a canter or them hammering us like Villa.

At the end of the day, it's only three points though, and it's not the title decider it could've been in the last few seasons (or basically two years ago).

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I watched last year's game on my own in a tiny Best Western hotel bar in the Californian desert. Bit of a difference this year

Would be surprised if Gini didn't start

Last match I was at Anfield for and was surprised it was only a year ago, feels much longer.

Definitely will be longer before I ever get to another game.

If Gini is dropped for Keita, I'll eat my socks.
