Klopp saying the boys are tired 'mentally and physically.' That does go a long way to explaining the performance (it was really awful and we're much better than that) and with the injuries, we're not in a position where we want games to come thick and fast (like previous seasons). We just need to ride this out till we get 2/3 players back.

This is going to be a long few months. The season can't end soon enough tbh. If someone offered me 4th now and wrap the whole thing up, I'd ****ing bite their hand off.
Get it overwith, try and cling on to a CL place, get everyone back, freshen the squad up in the summer and go again. I'd honestly fancy us next season. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Need more consistency in our centre forward, false 9 or whatever. Critics of him will hear from us how crucial he is to the way we play. If he's playing ****, we struggle cos it's like 10 men.Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostThere are clear mitigating circumstances that go a long way to explaining how the season has played out but have we done the best with what we have? No, I don't think so personally. Bobby Firmino's form for the last year is a massive concern and has derailed our attack imo.

It's had a big knock on affect, as we have lost 2 definite starters from the midfield of Hendo and Fab, to cover at the back. Losing Hendo from the midfield is a big blow, as he is the one who provides cover when a fullback bombs forwards. This means that Gini is having to start every game and no matter how fit, it will have an affect. We have also had to play Milner 3 games in a week, and even tho the man is a fitness freak, that will have an affect on his muscles. So our midfield is definitely misfiring, and that will have a knock-on affect to the guys up front.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI don't see how not having VVD has made Firmino and our midfield **** when we're camped in the opposition half either way.

Massive difference in the same way as losing Alisson does. Both of them make decisions far faster and get the ball moving again. Kelleher isn't a bad keeper but you can almost feel the relief he feels when he gathers the ball. He then pauses though by which time we're already up against a wall of opponents.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI don't see how not having VVD has made Firmino and our midfield **** when we're camped in the opposition half either way.
VVD is our first line of attack, his passing is absolutely top notch
