Yes he is physically superior to most players but I think calling him a beast does him a disservice on many levels.

He reads the game really well, his passing range is top notch and his all round in game intelligence is as good as anyone in the game imo.

Think it is easy to forget his age as well. He is still a few years younger than what VVD was when VVD joined Liverpool and only a year older than when VVD was in his last season at Celtic.

He is the second youngest of our four senior squad CBs.

For me he might be slightly better than VVD was at the same age (thanks in no small part to getting to play at a higher level sooner in his career than VVD did and also through getting to train and play alongside a peak VVD) and the only weakness in his game is him being injury prone.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Great shout, especially the bit in bold. Not sure about the comparisons with VVD though. Virg is a once in a generation centre half. Such comparisons don't really do anyone any favours.
It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

Well I am not comparing him with peak VVD, not yet anyway, but I do think he might be better (or maybe saying further along in his development might be more accurate) than Celtic/First season at Southampton VVD.

The experience of playing alongside vvd cannot be underestimated.
He's always giving out instructions and marshaling the players around him.
He makes (most of) the players around him rise to elite levels.

Very rarely have we seen great defensive work without Virge to lead the group.
How nat and rhys pulled us through, so overlooked.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Also the experience of training against our attacking players over past few years.

Poor old Maguire, he's probably Maldini at Carrington.

The talk of Ibou and injuries can’t really happen this year. The only games he’s missed are from a dirty foul on him late in a game. Nothing you can do about that.

Interesting that he’s received a contract extension more than 3 months ago but whether he signs it or not “is another conversation”

                    Wonder what that’s about?

Ibou is back in the groove. Massive performance today.

I think a few players got some form back today. Gravenberch looked better. They looked more switched on and focused. That Arsenal result must have given them that extra lift. You could see how they celebrated the second goal how big it was for them.

Massive second goal. Trent came into the huddle with "this does not slip" vibes.
