I hate the narrative that because someone’s well paid they need to get on with things and stop complaining.

Admittedly I haven’t seen the Henderson interview, but from the posts I’m gathering that he’s complaining about too many games in a short period and how that increases the risk of injury?

If so, it’s a fair complaint. We were due to play Sunday, Tuesday, Sunday… why not Sunday, Wednesday, Sunday? The decision was made purely from a financial perspective without any consideration of the players welfare. And before you come back with how they should get on with it cos they are paid well, consider that those making the decisions and benefitting from the decisions, which Henderson is complaining about, are paid well too.

Just because they are paid well, doesn’t mean they should have to put themselves in unnecessary risk of injury. I feel like I’m fortunate to be earning a decent salary(nothing like a footballer obv) but if there was a working condition issue in the office, I wouldn’t just get on with things because I’m paid well…

It's about protecting the main asset of the game: players. If they are continually knackered or injured (one often leads to the other), the quality of the product deteriorates. That's no good for anybody, including those wanting to sell TV broadcasting rights. This should be obvious, but to some extent it mainly affects the elite clubs who play in Europe and have lots of internationals - the rest aren't so bothered. But TV deals aren't based on Burnley and Norwich....

There are plenty of people putting in extra shifts all over the festive period, that's life. People in the NHS are working horrendous hours at the moment, caring for people with real problems. Sometimes life's a bit of a struggle but we're all pretty fortunate, only some are more fortunate than others.

With regards to muscle fatigue, then that's what rotation is for and it's up to the managers and support team to manage it.

Suck it up and crack on.
Or, let them speak out about it before the problem becomes any worse and we see more and more games played within ridiculously tight turnarounds.

Can't keep piling game upon game and expecting players, coaches, physios, doctors, etc to just deal with it. There has to be a limit.

Nations League, Expanded Champions League, biannual World Cups, International Tournaments in the middle of domestic seasons. All equals more games squeezed in to less time.

Of course footballers are extremely privileged, but that doesn't make them machines. And of course there are people with harder jobs and bigger problems. I don't see why that should stop footballers and coaches from addressing issues in their job though.

My main point is not that he's well paid and should get on with it, it's that I disagree that their welfare isn't taken seriously, quite the opposite in my opinion. The money side of it makes the complaint a little crass, but that's it.

I don't think were ever going to get close to an agreement on this, two massively different opinions, so I'm out.

Was pretty much a one horse raise before tonight but this result has pretty much nailed it. No way are city going to implode enough to let any team back in. Secure top 4, buy well in the Summer and go again. Hopefully we can still win a cup or 2 this season [emoji106]

Yep, another Klopp season we won't be winning the league. One more left with him is it? I honestly thought we'd have 20 leagues with him. 7th CL will be lovely tho.

We’re bringing on James Milner when chasing a game. We have no right to win the league with this squad.

City will be 9 points clear by this time tomorrow. I'm afraid the league is as good as over now.

                      Hard to argue with that

Tough to take but the result was fair, no excuses.

Massive advantage City now, 6 points clear same number of games with us due to lose our best players to the ACN, and them having a much deeper squad.

Probably need to be almost perfect from now to the end of the season to win it.

We’ve been on a great run before and they only need to lose a few points here and there which they will and we only need to make sure we bounce back from that and I’m sure we’ll push them to the hilt.
                            Are we winning?

We need to sort our own form out and not worry about anyone else. We've had a decent run of 6 back to back wins recently, but before that we've not strung together more than 2 PL wins all season. We probably need a run of 10 or so. It's not impossible but something just doesn't seem right with us at the moment compared to how we had been in our successful seasons, we need to figure that out and get it sorted.

I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
