Thanjk you.

Cracking performance tonight. Nullified a very good and very niggly team, making them look very ordinary in the process. The scoreline flattered Atletico.
Fabinho made a huge difference in the middle, and Chamberlain was very very good as well. Thiago played well when he came on and Tsimikas was excellent.
Could pretty much just list player and player really such a team performace it was.
Be nice now if Atletico cannot do enough in their remaining games and go out of the CL.
Up yours, Simeone. That "Simeone the ****** the ******" chant was boss.
Agree with all of that. Jota could have had a hatrick too & yeah I was very impressed with the Ox & Timmy. Would have been made up if the assist from Matip to Jota stood.
AM really are a horrible team, more snide than competitive. Pressure is off now and I think there is a lot more to come form wise once the injury situation improves.
It would be nice if we were a little more ruthless when teams are there for the shafting, but that doesn’t take away from what was a good performance against a top Spanish side and an excellent result. So less stressful to be walking the group stages.
Yeah I agree that it would have been fitting to do a job on them & score 5 & really rub their noses in it but avoiding injuries was more important in the big picture.
They are absolute filth. They leave something in on 80% of the tackles they make. The red card is all on Simeone, the team is him and everything he stands for.
Agree. I despise everything about the club now. I was never a fan of Simeone & im glad the fans let him know their thoughts too
It'll be interesting to see what we do for the dead rubbers.
A win is worth more than the League Cup final and the FA cup. Even a draw comes in nearly a million.
So it'll be strong but maybe splattered with Origi and Minamino.
Yeah, but these players need the experience though and we need to rotate, we could field two good teams honestly:
Kelleher
Nico - Gomez - Konate - Timi
Milner - Ox - Keita
Taki - Origi - Jones
Of course there will always be injuries and some starters thrown in, but this lot should be able to get a result against Porto, maybe a bit stronger for Milan though.
* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Something along those lines, I think Kelleher will definately play and we'll see a back 4 similar to that, midfield I think depends on the injury situation and who is available, I don't see all of the front three being rested I would expect at least one of Salah/Mane/Jota to play in each game, maybe on some kind of rotation basis Salah one game, Mane the other, also I wouldn't be surprised if Jota started both.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That team should be good enough to get a result in both those games. Also gives some playing time to these guys and keeps them fresh, in case we need to call upon any of them. Would be nice to see taki and origi playing a few games, before the AFCON, when we might be relying on them..

I think you might be right, but hope you’re not.
I wonder what might have come from last season, if Jota was fit in the period where we really struggled. He was injured in a dead rubber, and it would be such a shame if it happened again to him or one of the others. Especially as Bobby is out atm.

I don't want it to happen I would prefer to rest as many of the key players as possible even if it means losing those games. I just get a feeling that we will want to keep one of the pacey guys (Mane/Salah) in because without them we lose too much and I think he will feel the need to given Jota more games given that he hasn't been a regular starter. I hope I'm wrong and we go full second XI though, as we know what happened last year.

It's about six million we're talking about and as we seen last year Jota was risked because of it. Fingers crossed we come through unscathed.
