Palace were worth a point today but **** them, we'll take that **** pen decision all day long as we've been screwed over so many times with VAR.

Liverpool v Palace (a) PL
Originally posted by Kenneth View PostRef’s have gifted us a couple of points here. Our second goal was offside imo and that was a really poor penalty decision.
But we’ll have em.
He didn’t gift us points as we would have won anyway.
Thought we went flat after 30 mins. I think we weren’t at our level physically for most of that second half but we kept at it and were fortunate a few times. We need wins like this in a league championship fight.
There’s still light and we keep pushing, but we need to get back to the level we were at Arsenal a bit more consistently. I think we will judging by that first 30 mins. Are we winning?

Scoreline settles the match, will leave the "debate" as to whether it was lucky or not to Palace fans and the Sky monkeys.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Pretty much.
Plenty of times we do not get three points after playing well and the narrative with the tv experts etc is that we were not good enough because we were not clinical enough.
If that applies to us when we fail to outscore a team even though we played well, then it applies to other teams that fail to outscore us.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

We were brilliant for about 35 mins, then ran out of gas. We are relying on the same players to play every match for us again. Fatigue was an issue for sure, and I think is sometimes ignored by fans. We dont have enough depth to rotate with the AFCON and injuries.Originally posted by Fredo View PostHe didn’t gift us points as we would have won anyway.

Palace were good second half, but equally we missed chances in the first (cut back to Fab which he skied) so in the 'could have would have' debate we could easily have been three nil up at half time.
6 points in the period where Salah has been away is more than I thought we would get to be honest.Modifying post.

I don't understand the rules anymore:
1 The pen: do you need to be in control of the ball? Outside the area the view seems to be "no" but in the box it it seems usually to be "yes". Obviously nonsense but...SORT I T OUT!
2 Their goal. Was the scorer in an offside position when the ball was played through to his mate. It looked to me like he was. He continued his run and scored. Was that really another phase of play?
3 Our second goal. Bobby was in an offside position. Had he not been there the defender and goalie would have focused on the Ox as soon as Robbo hit the cross.
Please to win. But I like to understand the rules of the sports I watch.

1: Savage attack on Jota that led to a stonewall peno (Truth is if Kane "won" a peno the same way it would be getting called clever and not soft). Var is great and a boon to the game.
2: Dirty cheating Palace. Var and the refs are against us and should be scrapped.
3: VAR and refs are great and will not hear a word against them.
Hope that unbiased explanation helps clear things up.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Yes thanks. It is so much clearer now. I should have gone to Specsavers.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View Post1: Savage attack on Jota that led to a stonewall peno (Truth is if Kane "won" a peno the same way it would be getting called clever and not soft). Klopp nails it as ever.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to Sky Sports: "It was a bit Jekyll and Hyde football today. You could see how good we can be. We were incredible in the first 35 minutes. Then after an intense week - away at Arsenal - I don't have any real explanation but the intensity might be one. We became sloppy in the last line. In the second half we were not compact, the first line pressed too high and the distance was not right. We played a high line and did not catch them offside which was our fault of course."
On Alisson: "I said to him now, thank you for saving our backside again. He said 'that's my job'. Of course it is very helpful to have a world-class goalkeeper at the back!"
On the third goal: "It was massive really. I didn't see it back but I don't think I have to because we thought it was and the referee did. The Crystal Palace people did not, which I understand. It was a big three points for us. An intense period so a little breather now which helps. Then we start again."
January results without Sadio Mane/Mo Salah and Naby Keita: "The important thing is we did it without them. It made it so intense. When you don't have that maximum speed on the wing that they have you obviously have to change in these areas. The boys did well to get on the scoresheet. The boys put a proper shift in and I'm more than pleased for that.
"t is very important! You try absolutely everything and you are not always superior or dominant but you need results. That's football. We did it the hard way but we did it. Crystal Palace are a really talented team, wow. We were really good in the first 35 minutes but we couldn't stay like this and we opened the door for them and they were more than ready to come through it. It makes the win even better because we worked so hard."
