Thanjk you.

Jota, Salah and Diaz meant Leicester players could not catch a breath, even for a second. Usually with Mane or Firmino on the pitch teams can get a sneaky breather in. But these three are just pure dynamite, always attacking with tricky feet and glorious shots on target.
Elliot ground them to a pulp as well with his runs forward. This is what we should look like all the time.
Really solid and so many options - Diaz looks like he’ll fit like one of Sakho’s gloves, Elliott is ridiculous for a kid his age and having Thiago back in midfield adds so much. Jota reminds me so much of Fowler…… the second coming…
I thought Fab was immense - he breaks up so much, nicks the ball…… really under the radar how good he is
Was amazing. Incredible team performance for all but around 10 mins about the time of the subs. I went with my Dad, only time he was at Anfield was 1977 for the Scotland v Wales WC play off.
We got there early AF and he actually mentioned this to the Steward on the way in. The guy told us a story about that game. He said he lives about 6 miles from Anfield. Said on the night of the game he got home from work to find a drunk Scotland supporter asleep on his door step. He woke him up and asked what he was doing.
'I'm going to the game'
'mate, you are 6 miles away from Anfield'
Being a Scouse legend he promptly piled the guy into his car and drove him to Anfield so he didnt miss the game
The game. As mentioned I thought we were immense last night.
Players.
Alisson - early save was crucial, and didnt have much to do other than that. Trent - always looking for inventive passes and had a couple of decent shooting opportunities. He and Robbo are so fundamental to our play. Joel - Started well, defends well, really solid understanding with VVD (we were just behind away dugout) you can hear Virgil constantly talking to him. Virgil - calm as you like. He makes it look effortless. Pretty much flawless performance from him. Robbo - I think I was being trolled as the guy behind us seemingly doesnt rate him at all, and was talking up Tsmikas. I actually thought that Robbo got us going, he started really well. There was so much space down our left at the start and he was exploiting it with Diaz. The only mistake was a chance at a through ball when we were on the break which he took a moment too long with when swapping to his left foot. The guy behind 'again Robbo FFS' He was really good throughout I thought. Everyone else was loving Robbo, so I am sure it was someone from on here
Fabinho - He is positionally so aware, really good throughout, mops up so much. For 80 of the 90 mins, Leicester could not get through us - we were all over them. Thiago - plays like its the Matrix, seems to see thee game in slow motion and plays 5 moves ahead. Very impressed. My Dad loved him. Jones - so-so tbh. Its tough, the standards are so high. He got caught in possession maybe 3 times. That is enough to be noticeable in this team where standards are so high.
Diaz - he is going to be ****ing amazing. Was on it from the start, and feels like there is loads more to come from him. Bobby - industrious, pressed well and got in decent-ish positions. Then second half got caught in possession, chased back. Lunged. Dangerous free kick for them. He got hooked almost straight away. Jota - quiet start but grew into the game. Perfect forwards display. Even unselfish on 2 goals hat-trick there for him but chose to try and play Mo in. His song was sounding amazing too.
Subs - Mo. He is adored. Even in his cameo he hit the bar with an outrageous shot. Did his magic close control move to get a shot away. Should have scored and if he had the stadium would have gone off big time.
Harvey - better than Jones. He definitely gets the system and is efficient in it.
The ref - gave every 50/50 to them, and bought every single dive. They won maybe 5 or 6 free kicks from falling over in contact.
The atmos - it was really good throughout. Decent volume - loads of singing.
The Leicester fans - 'your support is ****ing ****' etc etc. Woeful. Totally ignored throughout by us which was great. The song book they have is typically dire.
The stadium - always epic. A great place to be.
Hillsborough Memorial - stood there with my Dad as we have all done pre match, when a guy walked through kissed his hand, went to one of the names and began to rub his hand along it.
Incredibly poignant - as we turned away there were tears brimming.
The drive home - got to bed 3:30am then up at 7:45 am
Any thoughts on Mo’s one on one with Schmeichel? After he took the shot, he got proper wiped out by the defender. Anywhere else on the pitch that would have been a yellow for a late challenge but nothing given by the ref or VAR. No mention of it by the pundits afterwards either.
Commentary seemed to imply that if the tackle had come in before he shot, only then do they look for the foul. After the shot, it seems like it is ok to wipe out the attacker, but we see that in every game.

Yep it's always been the case hasn't it, but it's bull**** surely?! As you say, if it happens elsewhere on the pitch with a pass for example, then it would get classed a late tackle and a foul given and the player booked accordingly. Football is weird.
The difference here is that the ball is already out of play, and awarding a penalty after the chance had already been wasted is maybe also not the best solution? Can you book a player for a tackle and still not give a penalty? Maybe the indirect thingy...
