Hmm, not sure about this one tbh. RB Leipzig have a business model which revolves around them buying talent cheap, getting them in the shop window and then punting them on for huge amounts of money.
My fear is that they have only brought him in as backup/cover and he won’t get many minutes. I think they will favour nurturing their own talent rather than developing ours.

I'm sure that the club will be looking for a maximum amount of playing time for Carvalho to be playing before agreeing to the loan move.Originally posted by rudedog View PostHmm, not sure about this one tbh. Yeah though Leipzig were trying to buy him. Then they tried for a 2 year loan with an option to buy. Which would suggest they have bigger plans for him than being a squad filler.Originally posted by rudedog View PostHmm, not sure about this one tbh. I think it might come out that there’s more to this deal than a straightforward 1 year loan..

At least he'll get to play. Kid was shafted big time coming to us."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

All the other big clubs sign young players who don't get much of a look in at first though. Madrid and Chelsea were especially bad for it - ultimately it's up to him to impress and if he doesn't fancy his chances then he shouldn't sign up. I think he'll be alright though.Originally posted by Harv View PostAt least he'll get to play. Kid was shafted big time coming to us.Really?

He was in the championship scoring an astonishing 10 goals and joined one of the biggest clubs in Europe and had a shot at the first team, appearing in a third of our league games. Now he’ll go on loan to keep developing and get another chance to prove himself with us. To say that he’s been shafted is absolutely ridiculous.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

On a related note, when was the last time we had a youth player join the first team? To my mind it's Curtis Jones and that was four years ago. Harvey Elliott was pretty much a fully fledged player before he arrived so I'm not counting him as home grown.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

Yes, but again that was only 2 years from joining from Celta Vigo so was pretty much already formed. When Oxturd ****ing chamberlain is coming on instead of you when we're chasing a goal then I'd say that's getting shafted.
He did more in the measly amount of playing time he got initially than Oxturd has done in 3 years.
He won't be back here. This is just to keep his value as high as possible. He'll then be used in a make weight deal for some new player Klopp fancies that FSG are too tight to pony up for. You watch."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
