I listen to this podcast every week and it’s excellent from a cold hard stats perspective on how we are performing or not as this season is going

Great analysis of our hamstring issue - 17 in half a season vs an average of 5 a season per club normally, this suggests systematic failures. In addition we are giving up more big chances per game than teams who’ve been relegated in the past seasons - shows how well Ali is doing
I just can’t get my head around how EVERYTHING has gone to **** at the same time, some things we could see such as recruitment but conditioning, tactics, back room fall outs…… it’s the perfect **** show storm

I also saw something about the ex-Arsenal medic team coming in and since then, we've had a series of muscle injuries across the first team squad and rather than being training related per se, they were saying the medical team are misdiagnosing how bad the strains are, so making them much worse if the players are playing through niggles for long periods. Much like Arsenal did, of old.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostI listen to this podcast every week and it’s excellent from a cold hard stats perspective on how we are performing or not as this season is going

Makes sense but not sure if true... sounds plausible as a theory.

Physios and medics recuperate players - strength and conditioning work with the players to make them robust enough to perform as Klopp needs. There is a disconnect between what Kornmayer is doing vs what Klopp needs plus we are also over playing a lot of themOriginally posted by Tribute View PostI also saw something about the ex-Arsenal medic team coming in and since then, we've had a series of muscle injuries across the first team squad and rather than being training related per se, they were saying the medical team are misdiagnosing how bad the strains are, so making them much worse if the players are playing through niggles for long periods. Interesting. A bunch of other clubs who are also using Zone 7 (a data driven injury risk assessment platform) are also suffering massive injury issues this season.
Looks pretty damning, but then LFC also used it last season when our injury/availability rate was largely very successful across a 63 game campaign.

TTT with a balanced monologue as always but he does make good points. Nestled into this I’d an excellent video of Tyler Morton from his time at Blackburn so far - looks like Frenkie De Jong based on that

They mustn't be able to recall him. It's the only logical reason.
He looks like he's put on a little bit more muscle in that video. His passing looks excellent.
Bajcetic and Morton could bail out FSG from having to dip into their pockets again

I dont think we *need* a "more forward midfielder". They all essentially dothe same job...Originally posted by Fosterbloke View PostAre either of them a more forward midfielder?
Press the ball until we get it back.
Saying that they both look all round central midfielders rather than a tricky attacking midfielder. Perfect on paper imho.In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

i would say they are both deeper players by nature, although apparently morton idolizes thiago and tries to do whatever he does.Originally posted by Charly View PostI dont think we *need* a "more forward midfielder". They all essentially dothe same job...

None of them look like they can shoot from distance, if that's what you mean.Originally posted by Fosterbloke View PostAre either of them a more forward midfielder?

It's a dying art.
Or players are discouraged from doing so in favour of keeping possession.
Personally I think having a few guys in the team who are known to like a pop from 25 yards helps to force teams that park the bus to break their deep lines a bit as they would have to commit a player or two to come out to attempt a block when one of the long rangers get the ball, and then there is space created for the forwards again.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
