Lucky to still be in Europe after all that… I’ll take it, it’s been a terrible season. Blowing hot and cold and leaky as **** at the back. If it wasn’t for Ali, we’d be scraping top 10…

Yep a kick up the arse season to make everyone at the club be it Klopp, the players, the owners and so on all realise we need to improve massively.
And a reminder to us as fans that we cannot have seasons with title challenges and cup finals all the time. You need the rough to appreciate the smooth.
Otherwise we become like the City, Man U and currently Newcastle fans who currently are using phrases like "we are where we belong" and "we are entitled to be where we are" in relation to their own teams. Deluded talk that ignores the fact that things need to be earned and suggests that there would be tantrums if they do not get the latest shiny thing straight away.
Give me a few crap (by our standards) seasons every now and then if it means they kickstart a period of amazing football afterwards.
In a way the 4-4 with Southampton is a boon. If we had gone and won 6-0, the the result and the good run we have been on might have turned Klopp's head a little with regards to who are the weak links amongs our senior players and maybe had him trying to give them another season to put things right.
We have had this season to see that quite a few players are not quite up to scratch anymore to be a nailed on starter, so this summer bring in the competion for places so that it becomes a straight fight for places rather than some players knowing their spot is safe no matter how poorly they play.
Roll on next season and the improvements that will come with it.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

It’s been a bad season alround but it doesn’t have to be a precursor to a continued decline. Yeah we missed out on the champions league but some of this can be offset by additional revenue from the new stand, standard chartered and Expedia sponsorship deals, the Nike deal etc…. And we’re still playing europa league football next season which itself is a way back into the CL.
Some of the players have underperformed badly but some new ones have also emerged like bajetic, Elliot and Curtis jones. Its also the perfect opportunity to evaluate the squad and move on players who are big earners but aren’t contributing enough.
You never need as many players as you think and three maybe four tops would see us be back in the mix for top four. But Fenway have to show their appetite for this rebuild.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

There’s a few teams who might add pressure on top four next year. Villa and Chelsea could be up there, the current top four will be there and even spurs could land on their feet by accident. And then us. Even with the right purchases, it will be challenging.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

I agree that it will be tougher and next season you might need near 80 points to qualify for the champions league.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostThere’s a few teams who might add pressure on top four next year. But we probably have the best attack in the league, it’s the midfield and right back where the money needs to be spent.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Newcastle still have a bit to do for me and ask yourself how many of their players would you swap for ours. Trippier at right back probably - guimares in midfield but that’s probably it. with regards to villa and Brighton I think they will be battling for 6-8 again.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostMaybe in relation to fighting for the 4th spot, but with Newcastle, Villa‘a form, utd regrouping, arsenal maturing, this is different imo.
Arsenal had a very good season but when push came to shove they couldn’t handle the pressure. That’s going to be their big test next season, can they play their football when there’s something to play for and everyone knows they folded this season.
Chelsea will be closer than this season but I still think their squad is unbalanced. Fernandez apart how many of their signings would you actually take.
For me it’s about the business we do. If we get it right we could be back challenging City if not then we’re back playing for fourth.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

And who's to say that Newcastle didn't peak, that Arsenal do an 'us' and have a terrible season on the back of giving it their all against City, or that Utd get a few half season injuries to key players? Bring on the next season!Originally posted by Kenneth View PostMaybe in relation to fighting for the 4th spot, but with Newcastle, Villa‘a form, utd regrouping, arsenal maturing, this is different imo.Was muß, das muß.

We need to worry about ourselves. Give klopp the funds to bring back the energy we missed from day 1, and they won't live with us.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostMaybe in relation to fighting for the 4th spot, but with Newcastle, Villa‘a form, utd regrouping, arsenal maturing, this is different imo.
