Salah played well. Superb assist for Firmino and battling to help get the winner. Always an option.
IMO he didn't play that well (nor did most of the team) at all but he was instrumental in both goals. Matter of time though, not worried about him, he's a beast.

I thought Salah was poor, at least by his standards, but is it possible that having Elliot is cramping on Salah a bit? Elliot does like to take similar positions sometimes and they both like to get on their left.

I do think that Elliot is absolutely making runs and holding positions that Mo usually does. Both are two similar.

They'll probably work it out together but might be painful for a bit.

Well it was 4am, but yes. Pretty sure i stayed awake for the lot.

You guys pick out the two things he did as though thats all that matters. The second one doesn't count as an assist either FFS, it hit his back

He gave possession away over and over again, ran into dead ends etc etc. He in terrible form compared to his usual standards and has been since Afcon

It wasnt his best performance granted, but to suggest his ego is getting in the way? There is no basis for this at all.

If you were to rewatch look at the times he held onto the ball with the defender (or 2) all over him and recycled. He was getting nothing from the ref all game despite constant man handling in every contest, even then he held the ball up well.

He also stretched them to win the corner that led to the goal and worked tirelessly throughout, not in skinning the defender and smashing it in the top corner, but always working his man. Newcastle defended well, and his workrate is part of the reason they were out on their feet at the end, watch the last goal Lascelles cannot move from cramp. he was not alone.

We do have issues, but Mo is not one of them. 2 goals and 2 assists in 5 not his best start but steady enough.

Firmino played well also back to back goals doesnt suit your agenda either

I left Firmino out of it. He wasn't great, but finished his chance well and created a couple of nice chances. No gripes with him the past two games, he keeps that up and he'll go a long way to making up for his past 2 seasons...not

Dudes bigger than the club and needs to be put in his place. Signed his nice new shiny contract and is now playing like 1st div player ffs.

No bigger ego check then getting dropped for a 19yr old kid. Id start Carvalho in the next game
Saw a stat that says Salah has created 21 chances this season, the next closest in the league is on 11, so he's doing something right. Just because he's not scoring doesn't negate the impact he is having.

I didn't think Bobby played well either but was a great finish and can't complain with returns in the last 2 games in fairness. Elliot was good, even if he is occupying some of the space Mo thrives in, hopefully that will work itself out. I thought Diaz worked his bollox off as well and is always trying to make things happen. Introduction of Carvalho was nice too and he took his goal well, really like the look of him ... well apart from his barnet. We didn't play well but still managed to create alot of opportunities even if most were half chances vs a very well organised & physical (has to be said weakened) Newcastle side. Yes we smashed Bourn 9 nil but we are still yet to click and the amount of low percentage long balls and crosses we are trying is irritating.

It was a huge 3 points, obviously to climb the table but psychologically aswell. One positive though is the likes of Matip back and Jota on the way is great news, Nunez back in contention too although I do think Bobby will start vs Everton. Jones is another body but I can't see him making it at LFC anyways. That midfield simply needs Thiago back, his energy, craft and how quickly he recycles the ball is the difference maker. Hendo is going to have to be dropped at some stage, for quite some time now he just had been a passenger in games. I know this is going to sound bad but I am a bit relieved he is out for a few games (injury prone no surprise), so we can try something else in there. I can't fault his commitment but it hasn't made for good viewing watching him lumbar around aimlessly pretty much since he signed his new deal. Fab is a frustrating one, one his game he's brilliant, off his game he looks cumbersome and lethargic. There doesn't seem to be any grey area with the chap but maybe he is suffering for lack of quality and pace around him and only so much he can do. There really is a lack of pace in the midfield area imo. A win vs Everton would be massive for us, I do worry about Gordon's pace vs Trent and I would hazard a guess Klopp will stick Milly in for this one which could go either way. Reckon this will be one of the nastier derbies.

According to the premier league chances we've had 11 proper chances all season so he's doing better than everyone thought .

You do have to wonder how much of what's happening at the moment is down to varying individual performance levels against the team overall. We have a finely tuned system and if it's knocked off course we can dip quite considerably (I'm thinking about that Villa game for example...).
