Mo was **** but he scored, that is what he does and had been doing at the highest level year in, year out. Nunez was poor also and didn't score. He was the difference between us not getting the win yesterday with chances he should have scored... even if we didn't deserve it. You take his criticism so personally, why do you think everyone apart from you is saying the same things. He works hard, he's quick, he gets lots of chances and this is a good thing but he has a poor touch, lacks composure and that's the difference between a good striker and a match winner. He needs to improve and will have time to do so. It's not personal or people picking on him, it is the truth and he is the least of our problems.Last edited by danperkins; 23-12-22, 09:00 AM.

Nunez for me got into the positions which is half the battle, he needs to better when there though but he's not the issue for me.
Defence last night was a makeshift one as was the midfield but I do worry about both areas at the moment, certainly until we've got our first team defenders back (hopefully with better form!) but the midfield looks leggy; the 433 we started with we got waltzed through time and again, swapping the formation helped but that's the area for me we are really lacking in and mostly energy.
Hopefully we see some activity in the transfer market this Jan but it will need to be for the level of players most clubs won't want to part with mid season.

Trent was ill. There's a lot of it about.Originally posted by Harv View PostLove how Nunez is getting pelters as usual.
At least he's busting his arse to get into the positions to waste chances. Mo' Money gets away with doing absolutely **** all for the entire game again, because he scores a little tap in to a gaping net (set up brilliantly by EST's favourite whipping boy).
Gomez and Ox are ****ing ****e and this isn't going to change. Theyve been ****ing ****e for years now. Injuries have ruined them. Why oh why does Klopp continue with this bull**** favourites game he plays.
Klopp's starting to really **** me off with his constant picking his favourites. It will be his downfall in the end. Gomez should've been ****ed off years ago, Milner is cooked, Ox had one half season where he looked amazing and has been either injured or dog**** the entire time since. Get rid FFS.
Also where was TAA? This soft prick cant be tired. He's been on holiday for 5 weeks. You can see his level of commitment to the cause right there. No wonder he doesn't look bothered when he's let another player coast past him at the back post.
I thought we were ****ing garbage, again. Felt like more of the same pre WC. Where is the intensity? We're slow to break, dawdling in possession, and so soft and easy to score against.
I'd sell Gomez now. Had enough of him.
I've major concerns about Nunez too. Fuming with him last night. He's a handful and exciting but it's no use if you can't strike a football. 3 or 4 chances and doesn't make the keeper work, it's inexcusable. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

We were poor, but then it wasn’t a full strength side, it was only the milk cup, and we scored two again a better team, so it could have been worse. It just shows what we already know, we don’t have the depth of squad that we need and our midfield is poor. And that Nunez can’t be relied on. But, I’m not too worried about Vila or Leicester.Last edited by Kenneth; 23-12-22, 01:52 PM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Lots of showy skills from Thiago but he slowed play down and cancelled out any threat we could've posed on the counter. He annoyed the **** out of meOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostTrent was ill. There's a lot of it about.

I thought that the Nat Phillips comment was in jest? If not, then the poster must be on a windup. Gomez's ceiling is far far better that Phillips' and it's obvious for anyone who has half of a football brain.
Gomez is in a bit of a situation, similar to Ox's in a sense, is that injuries have massively curtailed his progress over the years. At his best, he pushes Matip, VVD & Konate close. It would be a bit of a shame if we are never able to see the Gomez of our title winning season, when he was performing at world class levels consistently being part of a defence which conceded 20 odd goals in a premier league season. Are we winning?

Will gomez ever recover his form. Was his game all about his recovery pace, and he needed the recovery because his initial movement (or lack of) was lacking good anticipation.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I thought it was a decent game, much better than that world Cup ****. City had a much stronger team and should have hammered us, probably should have. But they didn't and it's no big loss going out of the league cup, so as long as we perform better against Villa, I couldn't really give a ****. Nunez was lethal against Milan and brilliant before the world cup, so the abuse he's getting now is a bit crazy. Starting to think LW is maybe a better position for him at this stage, especially if Bobby is supporting up front, but wherever he plays, I'm banking in him scoring against Villa. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

And yet he made far less errors in his time on the pitch and I thought we looked far more solid in the middle with Matip-Phillips.Originally posted by Fredo View PostI thought that the Nat Phillips comment was in jest? Yes he is limited. Yes he is nowhere near as technical as Gomez. Yes he is quite slow and does not suit our high line.
But Gomez looks like a liability in there the same way that Lovren was. Phillips looks solid and has not let us down. Id rather have someone dependable that someone who can be great 50% of the time. Personally, I think Gomez is too unrelaible and should be sold, but he just signed a new contract. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Nope. Either you’ve got a short memory or are taking the piss?
You’ve got to realise he is only 25 and he’s been part of the back line who won us the league in 2019. He had a run without injuries then which helped get him into shape and match sharpness. At the moment, he doesn’t really have that.
He’s got a challenge on his hands now as he is clearly not at his best, but as stated earlier he is only 25. He’s 4th choice at the moment and we’re lucky to have have 3 high quality centre backs ahead of him.Are we winning?
