Getting so close last season could have worked in the sense that it would have been motivation to go again this season. It hasn’t worked that way at all and imo it’s due to off pitch events. This includes lack of additions and lethargy in the management of the club.Originally posted by Fuzzy View PostThe players are completely wrecked mentally and physically from years of giving it their all, often to a disappointing outcome, with not nearly enough quality additions to the squad. I think it's all perfectly understandable and predictable and I can't see another manager do any better here.
It's a shame it's had to come to this before it became clear to the people in charge (if it even has) that we basically need half a new team, because it's going to be so much harder bringing in new talent while looking this ****, especially with all the weird stuff supposedly happening at the club.
Klopp isn't perfect and he's made mistakes, but it's not him that's killing us.

Because other teams players don’t give their all for years, just ours. There are certainly mitigating factors at play, but he has to get more from this squad than struggling against wolves again and again. When we can’t do the basics right, the manager is always the one to take the responsibility. He’s had time and money, he needs to earn his big salary.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Which other team has played as many games as us with the squad this size? Maybe 'giving it their all' wasn't the right expression, more 'was ran into the ground'.

The vast majority of players win **** all season after season. They are not exactly pouring onto their local psychiatrist's couch to help them through the trauma.

Don't fully buy that.
We have eight, maybe nine depending of how you see Keita, guys who could be regarded as being in our best XI.
All experienced guys at the club some time, all title and cup winners. Does the stuff involving the suits mean the experienced players suddenly run less, misplace passes more often and generally look like much lower level players than they have shown themselves to be in the past?
We crowed for years about being mentality monsters and being able to out fight, out run and basically out stubborn the other guys.
Now we are trying to make excuses for them, that the reason they hide on the pitch is because theyt are worried about the off pitch stuff even though the players are locked into massive contracts and that they try less hard for their manager as a result?
Doing the basics right with the ball and busting a gut is the bare minimum regardless of what is going on oof the pitch.
If that is even remotely true that they are downing tools because of off pitch stuff then they are not the players many of us thought they were, and they should start handing in transfer requests if they are that weak minded.Last edited by Doc_Piptorious; 04-02-23, 04:51 PM.I don't hate people.
