Klopp mentioned that Van Dijk, Thiago and Diaz have trained completely normal. He said the plan for Diaz was to be back 100% for the Leeds game. He looks good but with it being a long term injury he won't be rushed and will probably not be involved for the game against Arsenal. The situation is slightly different with Thiago. He's trained 3-4 times with the team and might be available for the Arsenal game.

Thats frustrating, 15mins from the bench, surely there is an opportunity for that?

I think Klopp's being very cautious with him after what happened when Diaz first returned from injury. I don't blame him.

Why risk Diaz at all this season? Take as many games as needed, we're not winning anything or finishing top four anyway.

Probaby because if they do not he will then not have a competitive game until next August and if some issue is still there we find out in August and not just before the summer break.

Would sooner find out before the season ends if there is a bigger problem and have the summer for surgery, re hab etc than be left high and dry when next season begins.

Right now he is first team training ready, so realistically he should be close to the stage where he could come on as a late sub in games soon.

Would love to be able to read what the actual changes we brought in to our training/recovery/rehab/physio side of things were.

We did change the set up and we did change the software we use for recovery analytics.

Be good to give Diaz a target to work on to keep him motivated rather than later in the year as he's a quality player who will give the club a lift when he gets back.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Completely understand it, it's just frustrating. It must be nearly 7 months since he played.

Did i read that us, Rangers & a couple of other european clubs changed to a new analytics & all have suffered more injuries than normal? i think i also read Rangers +1 other (not us) were looking at legal avenues with regards to the data supplied

                      Yep.

Is why I would love to know what data which the analytical software was weighted upon and if they were specific to footballers or, as I suspect, a version based upon another sport or sports that has had elements taken from it to be a "footy" version.

Every club that switched to this system has quickly seen a huge increase in injuries.

He'll be like a new signing. I think Klopp made a veiled dig at our medical department on it, something like, 'they said he was fit.' No doubt he's being ultra-cautious, especially in light of what Jaco and S-Red are talking about in relation to recovery and analytics issues.

That's incredible. If either you or Jaco can find anything on it, I'd love to read up a bit more on it. That would've impacted on everything we do, from pre-season onwards, and it would be a big factor (but not the only one) in explaining why our levels look utter cack.

It’s called StatsBomb 360 but can’t find anything about legal complaints against them.

Think we also changed the software provider we use for recovery and physio analytics along with changing the practical side of things on that front. That is what I was referring to rather than the in game analytics.

We did yeah. Can't find the Twitter thread now, but the clubs who adopted it have all had horrific injury lists all season.
